Please help, I just opened my cricut expression 2. It was bought from HSN.
When I turn it on it will not calibrate it just stays on the cricut expression opening page.
Is there a way to reset the machine?
I have tried pressing the home button, the search button, and the pause button, nothing happens.
I would really like to be able to use me Christmas present today!
Thanks in Advance!

I found the below instructions and it did not work?
What should i do??
With the power off press the magnifying glass the pause key and power button

You will then see a rainbow test pattern screen the machine will cycle the roller bars and then the blue calibration screen will come on with the cross hair in the upper left hand corner.

Chase the cross hairs and then it should go to the mat screen

I have tried numerous times to do the above given instructions, with no success. I have looked back into other post with concerns to this same problem, but can not find where anyone has stated that have had success with the give reset instructions. Will attempt to call support line in the morning.

I am having the same issue. I tried the posted solution and still nothing. Does anyone out there have the fix for this? I opened my CE2 and followed instructions to get started and the only screen I get is the opening screen and never even get to calibration screen! Bummer of a Christmas!

I am having the same issue. Apparently, we are all missing something, I hope. If anyone out there knows the possible solution, it would be greatly appreciated from us. Thanks.

First you will need to download the sync software. You can do that at http://www.cricut.com/cricutsync/

Once that is installed follow the steps below to run the “format and restore” on your E2.

Start with your E2 turned off

1) If you will plug your E2 into the computer and open up Cricut Sync

2) You are then going to select “Don’t Update Now” if it prompts you to update.

3) You will then go up to the “Help” option

4) You will then select “Troubleshooting”

5) There will be questions that will now show on the window. Will you please answer them as follows: Yes No No No Yes

6) It will then prompt you to put the E2 into recovery mode. You can do this by doing the following:

a. Hold down the Home button, Pause button, and the power button all together. A blue screen will appear.

7) Once this troubleshooting process is finished we would like you disconnect your E2 and try using your machine.

If after doing this troubleshooting process it does not fix your issue then would we would like to recommend that you call the number below where a representative will be happy to walk you through further troubleshooting or the replacement procedure for your E2.

Have a happy holiday!

Thank you so much. This worked for me. Let me just say that you have to actually hold those buttons down for a few seconds in order to get the blue screen. It is not like your control, alt, delete function on your computer. Again, thanks for the help. Hope all of this helps someone else out there.

Some Suggestions:

Take a t-shirt and run it across the mat

Take your hands and run it across the mat

Use scrap paper and run it across the mat or stick it on and take it off.

Put baby powder on the mat lightly and wipe it off
