Hi, i'm new to the cricut world and i'm looking into doing a lot of things with vinyl, stenciling, and etching. I'm looking for a font to do the pretty elegant curly monograms. Any suggestions?

A sweet gal from our MB has created an awesome listing of all of the Cricut fonts available. You can find it here:

Welcome to the Cricut MB!

There are several Cricut carts that are fabulous for Monograms. Some of my personal favorites include ...

Wall Decor and More
Tie the Knot
Black Letter
Storybook

But don't limit yourself to just these, there are many many many other cartridges that offer excellent fonts for monograms too.

You can see all the carts here ... http://main.cricut.com/s...ng/products-All-254.aspx ... just click on the cart of your choice, and then scroll down to see the words "digital handbook" or "want to see the look book?" ... either of those links will show you the images and fonts on that particular cartridge. There are several cartridges that are basically all fonts, and many of these offer a nice selection of fonts. But don't exclude yourself to only font carts, because many art or image type carts also have wonderful images PLUS fabulous fonts too.

I hope you find what you are looking for

Thanks for the help guys, some very good alternatives were suggested, but still not quite what i'm looking for. i though i had found a solution by the use of a third-party software maker but when i went to the website for the software it stated that it was no longer compatable with cricut. So, there goes that idea. I've searched though many cricut carts looking for the exact monogram font that i want with no luck. i need some way of using true type fonts to make the shapes/fonts i would like.

Here is what kind of font i am looking for in particular.

hopefully that image link worked. lol

That is a commercial font, Vine Monograms. I bought it and it has been worth every penny.

Songbird

Quarter Note

All have very nice "fancy" fonts on them. HTH!

Thanks guys! You all are big helps. I'm still running into the problem that I can't use any programs like the SCAL because I bought a newer expression (guess I should have researched this issue before I bought). So I'm unable to cut true type fonts. I have emailed cricut on the issue because I do believe a cart with this font would by a big hit. So we will see what they do. By having just bought an expression I probably won't be buying another cutter at this time. But I really do appreciate all the help guys!

You might want to take a look at the font that is on the new Creative Memories Wedding cart. (It's in this months Hello Thursday announcement).

I put in a request for an entwined monogram cart (as well as a circular monogram cart) at least 2 years ago and I'm sure I wasn't the first. This is one of the most common requests we see and one that often drives folks to other cutters. Never hurts to keep asking, though. Some of the Cricut fonts are nice for single monograms, but with the slant they just don't look as professional as the fonts designed for intertwining.

@ Kut-n-Print i totally agree with you and i'm sure they will probably take their time in creating a cart that we would like. At this point if i had known that i wasn't able to get this type of font i probably would have bought a different cutter, not that i don't like some of the carts that cricut has. Maybe we can keep sending emails and a cart will eventually surface.
