That's a great idea. Much better than the stack I have sitting somewhere (don't know where I moved them all to when they were in my way last night).

That's why I did the book. I'd either tear the page out of the magazine or type the recipe in Word and then lose them or forget about them. Now, when I want to experiment, they're all in one place.

After my husband saw my recipe book, he decided he wanted one too for his barbecue recipes, etc. So I made him one too and posted photos on my blog.

Linda, you have inspired me! I have my recipe "smash book" started. I still need to add my dividers and decide if the cover needs some other embellishment. I had a 49 cent composition book handy so I guess I am totally scraplifting your idea! BigGrin

I'm so glad you're doing yourself one of these. I had some time today to go through some more of my cooking magazines and added several pages of recipes into mine.

I also had a couple that I'd cooked and we liked well enough that I made two pages for my "real" recipe album. It's really handy for me to have the recipes I use all the time in a 3 ring binder. They're on my blog.

I love this idea. I have so many of those clippings or magazines that I just can't bear to throw out cause I know one day I will try the recipe. I'll be making one of these for sure.

I think I'm going to add a section for notes, what I liked, what I changed, if the family liked it etc.

I am thinking about making notes in the book beside the recipes I try...add the date it was tested and if we liked it. That will be helpful to me, I think. Can't wait to get it finished and start putting recipes in it!

My plan is to smash the recipes into the composition book until I try them out. If we don't like it, I'll probably put a mark through the recipe. If it's one we want to have again, I'll type it up and make an 8 1/2 x 11 page for my 3 ring binder I'm using for new recipes.

Thank you for this!!! This is a fantastic idea!!! I have piles of printouts from Allrecipes etc of different recipes I have made/want to make. What I do is use it, write on it, misplace it and then reprint it a few weeks later.
I am "planning" on making a recipe binder with cricut etc. But just don't seem to have the time right now. I read on your blog your idea of using this smashbook to save recipes, comment on them etc and then pick the ones you want to later put in your Cricut recipe book. ThumpUp
That is EXACTLY what I need to doLove LOL Flapper Wub
It has taken the pressure off me, because I had made up my mind to make a recipe binder of our favorites, now I don't have to do it all at once, this is a perfect crafty, clever, attractive solution till I finally get free time in my life;) Once the teens are in college I am sure I'll have Wink all the free time in the worldRazz

I just added mine! Thanks for the ideaLaugh
