Thank you Denise for this information.

My question is, I have had my Imagine for a year now, I bought it at launch, paid $500 for it. I have never had any problems. As I read this messageboard, some people have done this latest update and it has rendered their machines inoperable. If I update my Imagine and the update renders my machine inoperable, will PC repair/replace it?

Please let me know, because if PC will not stand behind their update and give me a guarantee should the update render my Imagine inoperable, I will not update.

Hi there - sorry to disagree but I did this latest update on my Imagine yesterday and it killed it stone dead. My previously fit and well Imagine is now on its way back to the supplier as it is inoperable.

This update is not uploading for a lot of us, is there a fix for this? After 2 days of working on it I got it to go to 31% and it stopped so did I.

The update downloads completely, but won't update the machine - it's stuck at 0% uploading updates. I just got my Imagine back from PC (a new one) after my old one just died and wouldn't cut. The first time I tried to cut using the Craft Room, this new machine did the same thing - paused for about a minute, then ejected the paper, uncut. It's infuriating to keep having this problem on every machine I try. PC really needs to fix whatever issue is causing this with their machines and stop sending out the same old broken product.

Denise, I am a new Imagine owner and yesterday purchased Damask Decor. When I put it in my Imagine, I got a message about updating in order to use the cartridge. So I went to the site recommended and tried to update. I tried many times yesterday and here I am at 4am still trying to get my Imagine updated so I can use my new cartridge. The new update just is not working and I will be calling Monday morning. I am so disappointed as there was no mention of updating in the user manual or when I purchased the Imagine. I was led to believe that you could use both Imagine and other cartridges just by popping them in and that just does not seem to be the way it is working out. I am also disappointed that since I just purchased this that the update was not done by Provocraft before shipping. Until I get this updating problem resolved I guess I won't be buying any more cartridges.

Hi,
Hopefully, I am in the right place to ask this question. I purchased the Cricut Imagine when it was releashed. I've updated it two to three times now including updating it a few weeks back. When I went to use the Nursery Tails cartridge I found that it prints all images but does not cut all. For some reason it will not cut (but it does print) the lamb images. If anyone knows why this is please advise.

I am having the same issues as everyone else...after the new update my imagine will not read classic cricut carts & the download will not finish..it is stuck at 0%. I am very very upset to say the least....PC what is the remedy?????

I just tried to use Philosophy and it said I needed an update ....so, naturally (had my FAITH) in this update ... tried ....n' NOW my Imagine doesn't even read a cartridge NOR does my Gypsy register??

Holding my breath and giving it a try.

I'm had my imagine since about May, but haven't used it much. got a Create in Aug, opened it 4 days ago, and it broke yesterday. So pulled out the Personal I bought and was still in box since Feb, and all's it does it cut funky and spit out the matt...so both are going back tomorrow.

Figured I might as well try the imagine update, if it kills it all three can got back.

Support says out of stock on imagine,none coming in for 2 more month. So hoping it works.

Tried to use my Jolly holidays in it, and it wouldn't read it so what good is it if I can't do my Christmas stuff. Thought it was suppose to work with both reg and imagine carts.

Got the gypsy, and the viewer was broke, had to send it back for a replacement.

So far, I'm not a happy camper. Everything is breaking. For the price of these machines, I'm getting really disappointed in the quality.

Don't get me wrong, the Customer service is great. Send it back..and it takes weeks to replace. But for the cost, should so many different products be breaking like this.

Let ya know how the download does..

so far it did the firmware update fine..but now it's doing a content download and it has taken over 30 minutes for it to say 1% and it hasn't done a thing since..15 minutes later.

I have that problem with Nursery Tails. I think it is a faulty cartridge. I have had mine a long time, so I just work around the flaw. I didn't catch it right away, because I did not cut every design on the cart.

I am having issues with my Imagine not reading Elegant Edges, Paper Lace, Sopisticated and Art PHilosophy. My version is 1.01 (0117:0032:0239:202A) Dont want to do the update as I dont want my machine killed are we just left to our own devices now on this message board. Where is the people to help us? Is this going to be fixed soon.

Okay ... THIS Is crazii! My Imagine wasn't reading a cartridge but the I Carts! Sheesh!!!!
So, I reset the whole darn thing!

I used the Troubleshoot and it formatted it .... and successfully returned to using Forever Young ... as for printing - didn't check yet

This is b.....dy ridiculous. And can I ask just when PC are going to get back to us re this update question. There are sooooo many of us in dire straights (mine has had to go back to supplier) yet nobody at PC seems to give as stuff about us.

I tell yer ladies, if PC was in the UK I'd be banging on the door! As it is, that isn't an option for us in the UK so they know the've got us where they want us.

called and was advised to leave it going. their server is slow and in high demand , there is also a gypsy update to for the imagine.

she did say that the imagines are now in stock and they are filling back orders, so if you are waiting on your replacement, hopefully it will come soon


so up to 39% now...almost 14 hrs later. Maybe by midnight it will be done


or not lol

ok, gave up on it...

so closed down computer and rebooted and started over

and it downloaded and updated within 30 minutes

and now jolly holidays works!


what a nightmare!!

Usually that means you need to unplug the usb and plug it back in. It's timed out is usually the case. Did it start going or did you end up having to do a restore?

I'd still call about the faulty cartridge even if you've had it a while. If it's a known problem, seems like they'd have to replace it. It wouldn't seem right that they'd expect us to cut every image when we get a cartridge just to check that they work.

That wouldn't be connected to the updates as that's one of the first cartridges out. I'd call PC.

Whew! I've never seen an update take that long. I know on my computer when it goes to a screen saver etc. then it times it out. I've learned I pretty much need to be there for the darn update. The plus.. I craft as it's doing it's thing.
Glad it's finally working. I love that cartridge :)

Hi!! Can anyone help...I finally got the imagine to go by taking the USB port out the back (Thanks for the suggestion) But now its stuck at 100%. and wont go to the next step...Anyone else have this problem?
