Ugh....Between work and packing for my trip with the boys this weekend I haven't gotten anything done for this challenge and we leave in the morning! Crying I'm hoping there is a round 2 that I'll have more time for...

Ok, here is my first project before and after

I started with a laughing cow cheese container. My craft room is black and white with pops of red, so I decorated this container to hold paper flower embellishments. I used paper, ribbon and red stickles. I wanted it to remain flat, so that if I make more of them, I can stack them. For the title, i used my CriKuts pen to trace the word, then filled it in with stickles. Hope you enjoy! I already have flowers in it!

Here is my home decor project. I started with a cardboard L that I have had since Easter 2011. I covered it in paper to match the colors of my living room: brown and teal. I covered the side of the letter in ribbon, then added some ribbon on the front of the letter. Last I added butterflied from Elegant Edges cart. I used my distress tool to rough up the edges, then used a piece of packing paper to ink the edges. I had to get into small areas I could not get with my ink pad, and that paper was in my trash can, so I figured I would use it! Last I covered the butterflies in flocking and added a body and antenas with silver puff paint.

OK, here is my first project for home decor. Although its an altered frame I place a poem about family inside, I use the Home Accent cart to cut the greenery and TH tattered florals die cut for the flowers, assorted buttoms and use an MS butterfly punch for the butterflies, the recycled item is the red strips that you see here and there is the backing off of the red tacky tape, I fringed the edges of it and then used distressed ink tattered rose and just rubbed it on the ridges on the frame.

My second item is an altered can, I opened a can of tomatoes last night so I used the can in this 4th of July decoration. I used cuts from the Stand and Salute cart and wooden sticks used for kabobs and again used the backing from red tacky tape on the pinwheels.

Nohasarkgirl and Dgirlv aswesome projects - woot woot. I love them all.

CindyAdamson - definitely round two.

So question everyone: Do you want to do the same as this round once a month or a weekly challenge of one item?

I am loving these challenges, it is making me go through my stash to see what I can use for each project. The three project for one week did get a bit stressful, I am thinking I might vote for one project per week.

And, here is my last project completed in roughly 4 hours for a total of 10 hrs for all three projects. I did a photo banner, an idea I got from a magazine, and the photos are from a recent trip to the mountains, I finally used a piece of cs I've had for awhile that had nature phrases on it, for the banner cuts I used the pretty pendants cart which I brought last week, flowers cuts from TH tattered florals die cut, inked the edges with distressed ink pad, assorted buttons and brads and my recycled/repurposed item are the marshmellow sticks I used toothpicks and left overs from a 3-d foam adhensive pieces for the mellows which I inked the edges to give that toasted look. I had lot of fun with this one.

I have one item done that I will post later, but DH has a run to Maryland this weekend and I'm going with him, which means I will not have time to finish anything else ...

Love the items that are being posted

I would rather do one item a week ... I always need mulling time, and 3 a week use up a lot of that LOL LOL

Hi everyone,
Its coming down to the final hours...
Before I post pics of my final 2 projects I just want to say how pretty everything is that you all have made so far.
Noahsarkgirl, that letter "L" is gorgeous. (my favorite color combo) and your tin is cute too.
DGirLV, your frame is lovely and I would have never thought to make a banner for pjoto display. It turned out so nice!

Okay, here is my home decor project and it ate up alot of time. I've almost used all my cereal boxes. This frame is 6 thickness, and has a plastic piece in it too for a shadow box effect. I tried all kinds of things to make the lamb's fur but finally cut up some small pom-poms. They disintegrate when they are cut and so I have white fuzz everywhere. The bow was recycled from something else (can't remember) because I cannot tie one that pretty. Even though this took me about 5 hours, I think a grouping of a few of these with other animals would make a cute baby room decor. And I could do it much faster now.Flapper

My photo display started out as a plain wooden frame. I used a punch to make a lattice look for the flowers to "grow" on. This is the only picture I have of my grandparents together taken about 1960. I'm not really liking how this turned out but it doesn't have to be permanent. 3 hrs. for this one.

My total time for 3 projects is 11-1/2 hrs.

Kelley, It doesn't matter to me if we do this every week or the way it is now. I've enjoyed playing along!

Here is my third and final project!

I finally started on my scrapbook for my wedding pictures (It has only taken me 6 years:)

I did a 2 page layout. For my recycled item I used the plastic shell off of the cricut cart to cut out a heart embellishment. I used my cricut a lot on this project: for the words and the border. I just love how it turned out! Maybe it is good that I waited for 6 years, because my skills are much better now than they were then!

I forgot to post that my final time was 6 hours, 52 minutes and 8 seconds :) Love having a stopwatch on my ipad!

I loved being a part of this! It was good to make something for myself this time!

I enjoyed having a whole week to work on things, but after the summer is over, I do not think I would have time to complete 3 projects in one week. Hope that helps!

I think what I am going to do is post a challenge each week: and if you want to play along that week great if not you can always do the next. That way it people can do it around their schedules.

PATTY'SMOM - AWESOME JOB....Everyone's projects are turning out wonderful. Kel

All the projects are looking wonderful. Today is the last day to post pictures. Tomorrow i'll draw a winner.

I thought about future rounds and here is what I thought I would do. Each month I would start a new thread....
I would then post a challenge for each of the weeks. That way you could do one a week or if you had extra time you could work ahead keeping the time frame in mind for each of the projects. It would be just for fun. You would post pics by each sunday to see what you come up with.

Again anyone can play, you can skip weeks, fit things in as your schedule permits, you can make these items for other swaps or for your self. It is just a fun way to get out of a rut.

Tomorrow I will post a new thread for July along with 4 challenges (1 for each week). I will include the last week of July's with August since it is only a partial week. I was thinking of making one of the challenges each of the month - gift related. For me, I always say I am going to make my christmas gifts and then run out of time. If I start now - I might just get a jump on it.

I should have the rest of my projects posted by tonight.

Last year I did make Christmas gifts but doubt I will do
it for everyone this year, I may try to focus more on cards this
year.

Noahsarkgirl, love your T and your banner, very nice work, also love your
wedding pages.

Jeri, I liked your layouts best, good job on catching up on some
scrapbooking lady. Your little can was cute too!

Candy great job!

Dgirlv, Great Frame, banner and 4th of July cans.Drool

Pattysmom, very cute frame, and lamb project.

Everyones projects were super and always give me ideas for the future.

I was going to do a photoproject of my dgd but didn't have time so
I guess 2 entries is it for me.
Thanks Kel for your hostessing this challenge.

Ok - I have been bustedLOL I did change the due date from yesterday to today. Two reasons - I needed time as this week just got swallowed up by work and I really needed the distraction. BigGrin I am not up for the prize I just did it for me - sorry if I inconvenienced anyone. Plus it makes it easy for the next one to start tomorrow.BigGrin Hope you all can forgive me.

Ok here are my two other projects - the tray was for home decor - found it at the Salvation army one of my bric a brac 50% off finds for .49 (yay) and so was the broken music box. I think the longest thing to do was to pull out the music assembly out of the box without busting up the box too much.

I did use my exception on the gem flourishes on the tray - did not alter them. I did alter the flowers.
