I have just purchased my new cricut mini and wondered what the best way to remove my cut images from the mat as they are stuck quite well. when I am removing them they are curling up? Is there a tool you can use or do you just use your fingers? Also how long approx does a mat last?BigGrin

Welcome to the message board !!
You need to get a Cricut Spatula. They make all the difference. Sometimes if you pat the mat a little with your hands it will take a little of the sticky off. Cardstock does work a lot better than paper and some brands better than others. It depends on how much you use your mat as to how long it will last. I always wash mine and re-sticky them when they become un-sticky. They last a long time this way !

Thank you for your reply, what do you use to make it re-sticky?

I was interested in the fact that you can "wash" the mat; however, how do you re-sticky it? My paper is stock so bad that using the tool isn't even getting it off. Please help.

Most people wash them off with a diaper wipe or a microfiber clothe and soap and water and use a repositonal glue or a repositional glue stick. I usually use a repositonal glue stick until I get up and just go buy me another mat lol.

I use the Zig Pen with the Jumbo tip to resticky my mats.

To re-sticky your mat use masking tape to cover the part that feeds into the machine and spray with the Crafters Companion spray glue (I think its Stick and Spray) which is a re-positional glue. My sister has done all her mats for the Cameo with it and says it works a treat!! Just remember to remove the masking tape before using and to put the acetate cover over it when not in use.
