I just recently purchased my Cuttlebug and was looking at getting a couple of dies from Stampin' Up. My mom used some dies with her Cuttlebug and it damaged the plates and severely warped them. Have others had trouble with this? Anyone tried with Stampin' Up dies specifically? Any suggestions on using other companies dies and the set up to use it so this doesn't happen would be great. Or maybe this is expected to happen. Thanks for your help!

Caroline has a ton of cuttlebug info on her blog (the post is below)

http://cccscraproom.blog...ards-created-using.html

I use all my Spellbinders in my cuttlebug, no problem. I have also used the Sizzex sizlets, no problem. I dont think you can use the Bigz dies in the cuttlebug. I dont know what Stamping up sells for dies, sorry cant help you there. The cuttlebug plates will warp and break if you dont flip them or turn them around whenever you use them after every cut. I still have my original plates, bought some new plates when I break these but so far everything is good.

I use the SU dies in my Cuttlebug!! I have one set of plates that is strictly for die cutting and one set that is used for embossing. My plates are warped and cut into, that comes from any die that you use to cut with.
I also use the Bigz dies in my Cuttlebug. I don't have any problem with those either. I just place it with the cutting blade face down on my C plate. I hope this info helps you.

cuts and warping in plates should be expected .....mine have all done that ....they even wear out and have to be replaced....as long as you are using the right sandwich recipe you should be ok
