Has anyone in the UK been able to find a UK supply for the compatable HP ink cartridges?
Or
Can anyone confirm that the UK numbers are HP338 and HP343?

many thanks

Ang

I can't answer this unfortunately, but if you don't get an answer.. maybe try PMing PCGENA.. she may be able to tell you the suppliers and/or confirm the numbers for you.

Do you know what?
i got an answer just giving me the 97 & 98 numbers but PC have no idea what us UK owners will do? they suggested i get in touch with HP themseves (which I have done), but you would have thought as a gesture of goodwill they would have done that and sorted it out!

Thanks and no thanks PC - no more of your products for me!

I also contacted HP regarding cartridges for the Cricut Imagine and they had no idea what I was talking about and suggested that as I knew the numbers for cartridges in the USA to have them shipped across. I would be interested to know if HP were more helpful in your case and could confirm that the 338 and the 343 cartridges are the ones we should buy. For your information, I own a HP printer that uses the 343 cartridge and looking at it, all the gold coloured dots on the cartridge do match the markings on the Imagine colour cartridge. As for the 338, I do not know and will just have to buy one and hope for the best.

Hi. Its a HP Photosmart C4180. Had it a few years now but has never let me down. As I said before, the colour cartridge looks the same and I believe is the UK equivalent but the black cartridge isn't which is rather odd. At the moment I have a small stash of the imagine inks and need to use those up first. I understand I then have to do an update to get the machine to accept the other HP ink cartridges. I also notice that someone on ebay is selling some imagine ink cartridges for £14.99.

Hi Ang. I forgot to mention that the black printer cartridge for my C4180 is a 337 and not a 338 which is supposed to work in the imagine. I do find it strange that my colour cartridge (343) is supposed to be a match but not the black one. I think I will check this out later on and I will get back to you on this.

Hello Ang. I have just removed both ink cartridges from my printer HP Photosmart C4180 and the gold/copper dots on both cartridges are in the same position. I then compared them to my Imagine ink cartridges as I had to change them last night and I kept the old ones and the gold/copper dots on the back of those cartridges match the ones on my Photosmart ink cartridges.
When I buy ink cartridges for my Photosmart I buy the 337 and 343 and I think those are the ones we need to buy for the Imagine.
When I think about it, it makes sense that both the black and coloured cartridges need to have the same markings to work together in the same machine.
I hope this helps and I haven't confused you with the above.

Hello Ang. No, I haven't as yet as I understand you have to upgrade your machine to use these other ink cartridges and I have got 3 black and 3 coloured ones to use yet which I bought via my rewards points. I also hear that people have had problems when they have upgraded but I am not sure if they mean with then trying to use Cricut Craft Room or with trying to use the alternative cartridges. I have therefore decided to wait until all of my cartridges have been used up and then I will bite the bullet and upgrade. I will, however, first try using the alternative cartridges first without upgrading and see what happens. Happy Christmas to you.
