Well, we usually go to church until 12:00! Years ago, we would party somewhere or go out and have a very nice dinner. Since we just had the stomach flu, we decided not to go to church to spread it around or go out to dinner. My husband, who is a fantastic cook, is cooking us lobster tails! My favorite! If we stay awake we will toast with grape juice as we watch the ball fall on TV.

So what are you doing to bring in the new year?

We stay home where it's safe BigGrin and we watch the ball drop on tv and that is about it.

I'm hoping to go to my daughter's house later, it's my SIL's birthday. So I need to bring his gift to him. Other than unpacking my suitcase etc. that's about it.

I just can't get my self to unpack though....I'm still tired, after all I was in the car for 24 hours with only stopping once to eat & a couple bathroom & gas stops. Guess I have a good reason to be tired. LOL Mellow Huh Mellow

I'm cooking beef tenderloin for supper and then after we put the tot to bed, we'll probably pull out a long movie in the hopes that it keeps us both awake until midnight.

Its going to be a struggle...I was passing out last night at 10 pm....which is odd because I'm an extreme night person...but I guess old age catches up with all of us eventually.

I was at work until 5:00 tonight, but we didn't have anything planned anyway. And I don't care about seeing that stinkin ball drop. When I get up tomorrow morning, I'll assume it dropped.
We're having the family over for the traditional pork and sauerkraut - then back to work on wednesday.

This has been one of the busiest holiday seasons I can recall. It started with sewing costumes for Halloween - then it was the big Thanksgiving dinner (I've been married 42 years and have cooked 42 Thanksgiving dinners) - then we had a big birthday party for our granddaughter - then the big family Solstice (Yule) party we have every year - then Christmas day - then the wrap up tomorrow with the New Year dinner.

My fun meter is full.

(edit) plus now I'm broke from buying too many gifts. Happy New Year!!

Had some Chinese take out with DH. He and DS are playing the Wii U, I'm contemplating heading up to my scrapbook room for a bit.

We have spent New Year's eve with my gf since my boys were little. Im recovering from two days of flu. So Im just watching tv with my guys and vegging. Made a couple of loaves of gluten free fruit cake and gobbled some of that up.

It's kind of nice being home and not entertaining. Just been a super busy holiday season this year. I need to recharge my batteries!

Happy New Year! BigGrin

DH and I are snuggled together in front of the fireplace watching a movie and waiting for our sons to come home from their parties they are attending. The party is usually at our house, but my health just did not allow that this year. We have spent a wonderful evening together...yummy dinner, dancing, etc. Hope you all are having a fun and safe evening, and I wish you all the blessings God has in store for you in the new year. GG

Spending time reading posts on this board and staying in were it is warm and not snowing!

DH and I had talked about going over to his cousins for a while but since it was snowing here decided to stay in out of the weather.

Son had to worked tonight so did not do anything for his birthday either since he was not home.

Kind of a change of pace since we have gone out the last couple of years.

Was given the day off tomorrow so I am going to enjoy not having to work and hopefully will get a baby book done for one of my DH coworkers. Holidays got in the way and I need to get it finished now that I have all my decorations put away.

Hoping everyone has a happy, health and prosperous New Year!

So, other than dinner, we didn't do any of the above. After DS went to bed at 8:30, we watched the end of some crappy show DH was watching...and I fell asleep by 9. Woke up just in time to watch the ball drop in Detroit (which was 10 pm our time) on cable, then promptly fell back asleep on the couch...and woke up at 12:06 and went to bed.

We stayed home with the family and had fondue. It was a great night and I may make it a yearly tradition!

Not a darn thing. :( DH is sick. I sure hope he starts to feel better soon! This is the first time he's missed work in 12 years due to illness.

I'm a little late, but....two of my grandsons were here for the day/night while their mom and dad went to the Avett Brothers concert in another city. The 9 yr older stayed up to watch the ball drop and he was more awake than me. (his usual bedtime is 8-8:30, so I don't know how he did it.) It's nice to start the new year off with grandchildren. We had the ny hats, whistles, balloons. BigGrin Happy New Year to all!
