Sharon, I just answered your PM, so sorry we haven't checked in a couple days.

I will do 20 for the East. Will you email the shipping address to me or will it be on the message board? This is my first time. Thanks!

For anyone who's been doing this for awhile, is there a rough schedule you follow for the year? I understand that Birthday & All Occasion cards are welcome at any time, but for the more traditional "card-sending" holidays? Should I go through my calendar and count 6 wks back from each holiday to get an approximation of when they'd be due to the shipper?

I signed up w/o much thought to the undertaking this round, and although I will be finished in time, it seemed like an inefficient way to do things assuming I continue to participate (which I want to do). I'm not much of a card maker (yet!), but it seems that instead of participating in so many swaps, this would be a good use of my crafting time and products. Making card fronts up ahead in multiples would mean I could contribute more and my "free" time varies so I could still contribute during those times my life goes crazy. Does that even make sense?? Blushing

Thanks in advance to anyone who can make sense of that and answer it..

Yes, you make total sense.....usually the theme will run about 3 weeks.....we did Christmas in July this year....often times it has been requested by the units to have 'love' cards sent during the year.....I looked back at a couple of the Christmas themes and we had the end date the last of Oct....you could probably estimate your holiday card time using the 6 weeks.... Hope this helps, but of course you can always contact your shipper if you have any questions.....thanks for joining in.

COB, I had the same idea. My resolutions or goals this year included giving back a little more. I am a card maker and did the cards for soldiers a few years back. Then I started doing swaps and even though I enjoy the swaps (and will still do some - just not as many) I also wanted to do something different. Since I have an adopted soldier who I send cards and care packages to (when one comes home I adopt another), I thought this would be a great addition to my adopted soldier. I get to craft using my crafty tools and supplies and hopefully help brighten some one's day when cards are sent and recieved.

I would like to continue making cards, along with cleaning and organizing a crafty area gone wild - lol. I like the idea of making all ocassion cards and of course planning for holiday cards and what ever comes up. So I will check in on a regular basis and see what the theme or need is and go from there.

Thanks Deb and Jen, you both make sense. Like Jen I've been doing A LOT of swapping the past 2 years and was looking for a different way to participate on this board. I too will still swap but not nearly as much. My DD leaves in a few weeks for Afghanistan for a year, so I've been looking for new productive ways to channel energy, so I don't let the fear consume me. I've always wanted to get better at cards, and the more I do the more I'll improve, so I thought this would be a good place for my efforts. I did participate in CCFA for a year or so so I'm not a total card-newbie but there's always room for improvement.

Thanks for being so welcoming Smile

Mailing this afternoon-should I start on St. Pat's, Easter or general use for the next mailing?
(I promise I won't be such a pain once I get the hang of the process!)

I see that Jean pm'd you my address. As to your other question re a piece of white cs, unless your card base is a dark color that writing would't show up on, that isn't necessary.
It is always best to ask questions here in the current theme thread, as many regulars check it often and can answer most questions. Thanks for joining us.

Don't you worry about asking questions......someone is usually around to answer.....I am going to answer and say if you want to do a holiday, I would make Easter/general use....we have done St P day in the past.....

Here are 3 of the 5 card designs I did for Valentine's Day. I did 10 cards of each design for a total of 50. My mom accidentally broke our camera so the flash doesn't work so the other pics didn't come out. I've already picked up on things I could've done differently so hopefully the next batch will be an improvement.. Blushing

Your cards are great. I am hoping to get some pictures of mine today, since there is some natural light which helps.

More cards, love them. I took advantage of an extra day or two to make some more cards since I am mailing them in state. So mine are going out tomorrow. Will post some pictures before I package them to mail.
