Here is this weeks card sketches!
I hope you all have as much fun with them as I did picking them out! BigGrin
Make a card with one of the sketches, or make them all! It doesn't matter! All we ask is just to have fun, and come show us what you made!

Extra credit: How about putting flowers on at least one of your cards! This weeks sketches just screamed flowers to me!

Oh my Sandy this card is just lovely. The colours are very pretty. Great embossing on the banners, love the leaves and the ribbon. This makes great use of the free digi. Fab matting and layering.

Sue.

Oh BTW thanks for hosting this week and the sketches are great.

Good morning everyone. I have been MIA this week, as we've been out of town and not in my craft room at all. I just took a look at last week's cards and there are some great ones. I hope I can eventually catch up with the sketches.

Sandy...thanks for the great sketches this week. Loved your first card. Can I ask you why you flipped it? Just curious.

Here are this weeks colors. As always, I hope you choose to play along and use them on one of your cards.

Dee

Well it has been too cold to go out today so I thought I'd make a start on a card.
Firstly I am so sorry about the photo it is on a right squiff, no matter what I did it made it worse lol.
The card is a 5x7 and I have used papers that came free in a magazine quite a while back but I thought they were bright and I needed cheering up a bit today. I have used sketch #1 but afraid Blushing Blushing no cricut cutting on this but I did use my CB folders for the background paper and the blue strip.
The sentiment and banners came with the papers, the birthday greeting is a stamp. I used my Xmas prezzy SB for its layers and added 5 gems to bling it up.

Thanks for looking.

Dee, thanks for the ad colors! Very nice color combo!
You asked why I flipped my card around!?!? I did sketch 3 and stuck pretty much EXACTLY how it was on the sketch, and I hated myself for it! I can't post it until Friday but you will see what I mean! Anyway, I absolutely loved sketch one! It was my favorite sketch of all! I wondered if I could pull off a nice card in reverse, so I had to try!

Sue, I just love the spring like colors that you used on your card! Thank you for reminding me that I can use my embossing folders on patterned paper! I never seem to remember that one! Your sketch 1 card is quite lovely!

Sandy,
Thanks so much for Hosting this week and for the nice sketches with lots of detail.

#1 - Very Christmasy card...you should have a good supply come Christmas 2013. Love the circle frame (which cart??) and the mitten image is very cute. Did you emboss the banners or is the paper already like that...like the way it looks. The snowflakes with the bling and the bow with the greenery in white looks very pretty. Great card!

DeeScraps
LOVE the bright and bold colors you chose for us for the Ad Colors. They remind me of the beach and sailing boat colors. Let's see what I can come up with since.... we have neither around Tucson!!LOL LOL LOL

AcrossThePond
Okay, another English word...what is a "squiff"??Confused Confused
#1 - What a colorful card, Springtime colors and patterns for sure! Love the assorted shapes and Bling on this card, the frame and sentiment are great. I see you are enjoying your Christmas gift CuttleBug folders, too. I recieved some from both my DD and DGC....can NEVER have too many folders, right??!

Carol - Lovely card using last weeks sketch, pretty papers used and love the pitcher/jug.

Turtlebug - Squiffy = off to one side, not straight BigGrin . My DH says thats how my photos always turn out if hes not there to take themLOL . The card kept opening so to get a forward photo I tilted the cameraBlushing Blushing I should really leave it to him.

More snow on the way so going for my shopping today, I am soooooo fed up of this now.

Sandy – thanks for hosting this week! Love all of the sketches and the extra credit. I’ve been wanting to make some flowers so this is the push that I need. Beautiful sketch #1 – just the perfect selection of papers and so much layering! Pretty accents including the bling!

Dee thanks for the ad colours – I have one idea so will go with that this week!

Sue – what a great sunny card to chase away the winter blues! Love the embossing of the patterned paper and the bling! Thanks for explaining “squiff” – that happens to me too and thankfully the photo editor can help BigGrin Poor you and all the snow – for us we remain in a deep freeze this week (now – 25 and with windchill – 35).

Joyful Carol – Very lovely vase card – all the inking on the edges makes everything stand out! Great choice of background paper to tie in all the colours!

Have a great day everyone - hope to get to my craftroom tonight!

Hello everyone!

I meant to get on here yesterday and comment but all I managed to do is log on and update our link in the Consider a Challenge page

Anyway, more packing! I did get a couple of "ME" time!

Sorry to disappoint TurtleBug, but "ME" time for me is usually not crafting since I can sneak into the craft room whenever the kids are distracted and hubby is doing something else and I never have to demand that of my family BigGrin

So for my "ME" time... I enjoyed a glorious 2 hour nap and a pedicure later that same night Love

Turtlebug, the circle frame is a Spellbinder called Lacey Circles! I did emboss my banners using the snowflake embossing folder that I have! Do you know, I got that wire embossing folder as a Christmas present from my DH because I asked for it! All your cards with it on there inspired me to want it! A big thank you! Now I just need to get busy and use the darn thing, lol!

Joyful Carol, such a pretty pitcher with flowers in it! Very nice card!

I'm really happy with how this card turned out. Sometimes I have an image in my head and the finished project doesn't quite turn out that way.

Here is my Sketch #2. There's a ton of layering and inking on this card. The cardinal is Winter Woodland but I altered it by adding a wing and layering the feather and some black inking. The frame is also Winter Woodland but I decorated the branch with MS branch punch and ink the green pine with a bit of white for a snow effect. Thanks to Sue for embossing patterned paper as it gave me the inspiration to use the Snowflake folder for the bottom layer of rectangles. The photo corners are simply a border punch that I shaped. I've forgotten which cartridge had the holly - sorry!

What in the world is going on with this MB?

I can't get past the log in screen on the normal browser I'm using. I had to use Internet Explorer and I never use this browser anymore

I think the 3-day sale banner is screwing me up because it keeps trying to refresh every time I log in

Gisele - O M Goodness whoever receives this card is going to be very lucky as it is wonderful. I too love all the layers and inking. TFS

Raquel - I just love your Jingle Belles card, lovely embossed paper on the top part quite different and the drops of glaze are a nice touch too.
A very striking card for the Just Rite challenge, just lovely as always. It is so nice to join in with other challenges when you get the time, I find it helps you think about doing different things when you see other peoples samples.

Turtlebug - Such a cute pretty card for Emma, I can see #1 no problem.

Ok, just a little update on our "move"

We are now expecting to close on the house around February 22nd... so that gives us a little bit more time to pack BigGrin

I'm finally done meeting with all sorts of moving company and we decided to go with a company that a close friend highly recommended. He had used this company during his move

So... I'll be keeping my craft room unpacked until the last weekend BigGrin

Raquel, beautiful Christmas card! I just love everything about it as well! Gorgeous JR card! The colors, papers, those roses, the lace, that gorgeous bow,... it's all wonderful!

Turtlebug, lovely birthday card for little Miss Emma! Everything is quite beautiful on your card as well!

Raquel, I hope all goes well for you on moving day! Glad you have more time to pack and get ready for it! I am sure you are getting anxious as well to get into your new house!

Here is my sketch 3 card! See what I mean, I stuck exactly to the sketch! I had to wait until Friday to post it because it showed at My Paper Crafting! The heart digi is the free digi this week! BigGrin

Well here is my card for Sandy's #2 sketch. I did leave off the photo corners but you will see them on my card for #3 when I post it. I also flipped it too.
The papers used were all free out of a magazine infact I have used the same set for all 3 cards this week.
The image is one from www.mypapercrafting.com and I am using it for my card on this weeks DDF challenge. For those who haven't been there yet you get the free digi of the week and if you link a card up there using a digi you could win a free one from her digi shop.
The card is 5x7 and there is a bit more info on my blog.

SandyPalmer: what an elegant card and you know I love feathers so this screams to me! I love it!

AcrossThePond: oh how cute! That bunny is so adroable and that embossed oval behind is so perfect to pop him up. Free papers huh? What magazine gives those out? They are quite a lovely set of papers too! Are the eggs stickers of some sort? Poofy stickers?
