Hey gang! I'm posting early as I need to get to bed soon with an early start tomorrow morning.

Here is my sample for Sketch #1 - I used all scrap cardstock - even the clear acetate! Only new item are the "candies" in the jar. Cricut cartridges used were Doodlecharms, Elegant Edges, Ribbons & Rosettes, CM Holiday Frames and Tags and MS Seasonal Cake Art. Embossed with Tim Holtz brick and added a few pearls/gems for embellishment.

Just thought I'd check to see if you posted the sketches before I went to bed. Great sketches and a nice #1. That an interesting embossing folder. I love how you did the top of the jar. I've never seen "candies" in the stores around me. Where did you get them?

Here are the colors for this week. I thought they had a nice "Spring" feel to them. Actually, at 82 degrees today, it's more like summer here!

Have fun everyone......Dee

Gisele - Thanks for hosting for us this week. 3 Great sketches, I like the use of the simple shapes but we are able to add our own twist to them if we like.

Wonderful opening card for us to all Drool over, boy you have some great scraps there. I love all the texture you have added to the card. TFS

Dee – Thanks for the ad colours! I will make a card using them later on this week! The “candies” are actually called “Candi minis” they’re from a magazine “Simple cards and papercraft” from the UK that my daughter bought me recently. I live in Canada but maybe Sue knows more about them?

Turtlebug – Too funny about seeing the same sketch! Looking forward to seeing your new flowers!

Donna – Beautiful card #2 in the ad colours too – woohoo! Lots of pretty embossing too and great button flower! Don’t forget to take pics of sweet Emma and post them here after the party!

Here is my Sketch #2 – I’m still thinking of Christmas although we went from freezing cold to snow to freezing rain to melting! Very odd weather this winter! The Christmas ornaments are all from Joys of the Season. I believe frame is Elegant Edges. I used scrap paper for the ornaments and new Christmas Recollections pad for the frames.

DeeScraps: thank you for posting the Ad colors. I'm so sorry I don't always get to the Ad colors. I know we don't have to do them but I like to when I can find the papers. Gorgeous Ad color choice. I'm loving this color combination

*NanaDonna*:
great birthday card and I have that paper! HAH HAH! We sure have a lot of DCWV paper stacks in common

VickieBryan1: love the simplicity of your "thank you" card and those jewels are a perfect touch

Vicky - very pretty card love the yellow and background paper.

Raquel we sure do have a lot of the same paper. That piece came from one of my very first DCWV paper stacks that I got years ago. Always loved the colors in it and when this weeks ad colors came out I knew just which paper I wanted to use.

Donna...great take on the sketch and great use of the ad colors. What will you be making for Miss Emma's birthday party? Have fun and post lots of photos.

Gisele...wow, great Christmas Card and perfect for that sketch. Very clever.

Vicky...welcome back. Loved the simplicity of this card and the pretty background paper.

Bingolady....Great "boys" card. The colors worked perfect for the card. Where is the scooter from?

I still cannot enlarge the cards that are attached, so I probably miss some of the details.
Sad

I started this card last week and was just able to finish today. I think it's sketch #2. The printed papers are from a new pack I bought by KC and Company, and the stamp is by Penny Black. The one corner was put through the Cuttlebug and the headband, banner and heart are popped. Flowers were bought ages ago at the dollar store. I stickled some of the edges, but I'm not sure why they look so blue-tinted in the photo.

Dee

Hi Ladies,
As I mentioned in my earlier post here, I have been practicing how to make flowers cause I am so envious of all of you that post your cards with all the pretty flowers. Thanks to some Links that Raquel has shared with me, here is my first set of flowers. Now, be nice please..it is my first bunch!!LOL LOL

My Sketch Card #3

Circles - Plantin Schoolbook
Embossing - "Victoria" CB folder
Sentiment - CTMH Acrylic Stamp from the "Delight" Colection
I made the flowers in 1" and 1.5" using 8 layers for each and inking the edges, misting them wih Pearl Mist and crunching and unfolding to let dry and then layered them and added Brads to the centers. Added matching ribbon and Bling to the "i" of the word "Delight".
I ws SO lucky and found this paper that BingoLady gifted me a while back. The sheet was bordered and had this design in the center, so I measured and centered it to match the card size I was using.
TFL!!BigGrin

Here is my card for Sketch #3 - Christmas again BigGrin

The bell and green holly background is all from Teresa Collins December 25th cartridge. I went for iridescent gems instead of the traditional red ones. I embossed the gold bell with Swirls folder and added a plaid ribbon.

My Sketch #1 in the Ad Color Challenge:

WISH - Stamping Cartridge. I double layered it and used Judy Kins Diamond Glaze and added a blue gem to the letter "i".
Embossing - "Houndstooth" CB folder
Butterfly - Martha Stewart punch. Cut from plain white cardstock and layered it three times. Used green Promarker around the edges and then used a yellow Promarker to color all over it. Added yellow/green gems to B'fly.
Corners -Fiskar Corner Punch. Messed up punching the bottom right corner...so I snipped it off at an angle, popped the Butterfly with 3-D tape and covered my boo-boo...Sneaky Sneaky Sneaky!!
I used the same color ribbon on both squares but for some reason the vertical on is showing darker. Might be the sheen bouncing off the computer light when scanning it????Confused
I used my CTMH Edge Distresser around the the border of the background paper and around the border of the center blue square.
TFL!!
