Now I thought of an idea today if you wanted to expand your work surface of the trap. Use a die cut such as the top note die or cabinet card (just to name a few) in medium weight chipboard. After it is covered you could poke the holes to reassemble the "holder" porton of the trap before further embellishing. Just a thought anyway. I so want that cabinet card die.Love

I am going to work on getting a video up. Fingers crossed - you can all laugh. Last night I started to prepare a sample and a friend came over. Then today my son, non-date, and I went to a place called Slappy Cakes for breakfast (AWESOME) then we went and saw Hansel and Gretel. Just got home. THe pancake place was awesome. YOu order the batter, mix ins, and toppings then you make your own - there is griddle built into every table. It was the best pancake batter ever - I had sweet potato. Mmmmmmmm Wub Drool

Have a good day all. K

Well, Kelley, I expanded the surface of my mousetrap by buying a bigger trap...RAT sized trap! I figured if Cindy needed it for mail, then it needed to be bigger. Found it at Rural King and hubby said "you better let me take it apart" and I said "no Kelley already gave us directions to do it and she's making a video"...LOL LOL LOL

Gosh, had I been able to get on the MB yesterday, I might have thought to work on this swap! But I would have needed to see Kelley's instructions first.

I guess you could get on with google chrome but not with internet explorer, if that makes any sense? JeanP sent me a link and that's how I figured that out.

Makin progess on my partners trap, I ended up altering this without removing the hardware, after having a fit with the first one, trying to get the nails back in and getting scratched up, it worked out well, here is a sneak peak.

Barb hope you get to feeling better. Kel I have been watching some videos and finally was inspired to get started on mine. The little traps are so little and the hardware is giving me a fit. I think it is I am scared of it. Lol. Will try again or go to a bigger size

Ladies, sorry I didn't get a video up this weekend.

Here are some ideas for you all to get started.

You can either unassemble the trap completely to decorate or just pull off the parts you don't need and decorate around the remaining "holder" if you are worried about reassembling.

If you find the surface too small to work with - you can a rat trap (be care full with the "holder" as it is much stronger). Add a piece of chipboard to the top (I made a sample one that I will post later that I used a top note die with chipboard - decorated it and added it to the top of the trap, then put on the hardware. Or you can decorate a surface such as chipboard and add the trap to that. If you go back to my previous post where I put a ton of examples, there is a G45 one that will give you some inspiration. I am sure there are other ideas, but these are just a few. post #17

Barb, I will look fo rmy answers. I thought I posted them anyway

1. Do you have purpose you would like the item made for (Ie... messages, photos, recipes - etc)
Messages/Notes
2. Do you have a theme/style/colors you prefer (Keep in mind this a no cost/low cost swap and not everyone has the same type of stash) - so maybe give a couple of suggestions.
3. Is there anything you don't like? (example colors, style)

I will answer 2 and 3 together - I will like anything but pink and cutesy. I tend to lean towards g45 and timmy styles, but I am pretty good with it all unless there is the dreaded PINK. Flapper LOL Flapper Lol

My partner JessieG PM'd me and told me that since she is a new mom it would be better for me to contact her thru her personal email so that will be how I will be contacting her so if you don't see me on here much it's not that I don't love ya'llBigGrin it's just that she probably doesn't have time to be on the board and I am just bein' a board stalker Drool rather than a board poster, but that may not be the case either. You just never know about me.Laugh Sometimes I just come and read and then sometimes you just can't shut me up. Laugh Depends on my week.

Well Jessie and I have had our initial contact and I am now waiting on hearing back from her on what she might like since she didn't really put a preference and I really like to have at least a color guide. I emailed her my likes so that she didn't have log into the board to see what I had posted and hopefully I can knock this out pretty easily.

Have a good week ladies.BigGrin

That is good that you exchanged information and will communicate via pm. Well I do hope you do find time to still come chat; however, just keep in mind my rule on posting even just a quick - JCI on the thread.

Post at least once per week (Week starts Monday - Ends Sunday for posting purposes)
Miss 1 check - in ; request is posted on main thread for those who have not checked in to please do so.
Miss 2 check-ins - will be removed that following monday from swap.

This makes it easier than having to chase people down to remind them to post on the thread.

You guys are so fun...all your posts are cracking me up - COB did you get your prize or did I send to the wrong city again???? LOL

For those using a rat trap keep in mind the spring is stronger than the mouse ones, so becareful when altering.

Thanks, K
