I was able to find time over the weekend to try the free cuts in Cricut Craft Room. I made the window card and added the butterflies and bird using the same cart. I used the Imagine Blossom cart to make the wallpaper inside and A Child's Year to cut the cat. I like the way the card and envelope went together, so I will be buying this cart. Thanks for looking. I have all the details on my blog.

Threadbear....you did a fantastic job on this card. I was wondering if you used the proportions that came up on the mat when you placed the images there, or did you resize them?

It does look like a really fun cart, and I think I'll be buying it, too.

Thank you for such a nice comment. I used the proportions that came up on the mat. I cut everything at 5", including the envelope and it all fit together perfectly. The folded card measures about 3.5" x 5".

The only cuts I did not cut at 5" were the bird and butterflies -- those are cuts from the same cartridge, but for different cards. I cut each of them at 2.5" and I used the larger of the two butterflies. Also, the cat is from A Child's Year and I cut it at 2". I hope this helps.

That helps. So, it sounds like you typed in 5" Relative Size? Except the bird/butterflies, etc.!
That's what was stumping me. The bird and cage were coming up way bigger than anything else, which seemed totally strange because I was using RELATIVE. I was scaling them down, too. BUT, it didn't seem like I should have to do that.

I appreciate the information.

Wait a minute; if you cut everything at 5" and the folded card is 5.25"...how can that be? That confuses me just a little.

Oh, I'm sorry, Char -- that was a mis-measurement on my part! The card is right at 5" tall -- just a hair over and that might be because of the layers.

I did use relative size. But I didn't use the bird cage, so I'm not sure on the sizing of it. I just pulled up the 5" bird cage on my mat and it is too large to fit inside the window of the card. I guess if you want the cage inside the window, you will have to size it to fit.

Thanks so much.

I was going crazy with some of the cuts, because they were coming on the mat (in RELATIVE size) way, way off the original image.

I know I can resize......just wondering why those elements are so big when they come on the screen. I realize you would have to resize them for different things, but in relation to the window...when they were showing the cage and the bird for CARD 1 (that's how I took it...that they belonged to CARD 1), it seemed odd.

I guess it's just another thing I'll have to take in stride! LOL. I'm hoping to get some CUTS done today.

REDROSE - If you go to CCR and click on the IMAGES tab at the bottom of the mat, you can click on MY CARTRIDGES in the FILTER. If you don't see MY CARTRIDGES, you might have to use the scroll bar on the right to get up to the heading.

This is assuming you have downloaded CCR to your computer. You can only CREATE in the WEB VERSION of CCR. You have to actually download the PC VERSION to your computer.

You also have to hook up your CRICUT to the computer to work in CCR.

Does this answer your question, or are you needing something else answered?
