Are you referring to the "Craft Room" tab at the top of the mb forum? If so, have you downloaded the sw to your computer. If not, from the home page, look at the bottom of that page and click download to download the sw to your computer. If you have already downloaded, it should have placed a shortcut on your desktop or you can find it in your list of programs. Clicking on either should directly open the virtual mat and design tools. Let us know if this is not the case. Hope this helps

When you click on Craft Room at the top of this page, do you get this page?
http://www.cricut.com/home/craftroom

I see to click on either PC or MAC, are you not seeing that?

Just close the video and CCR will open. However, you cannot cut from the web version, just design. You'll have to download the software to your computer to be able to cut a design.

paris - It's a little hard to tell if you are going to CCR from an icon on your desktop, from FAVORITES or from where.

Can you tell us how you are going into CCR?

If you are going into CCR from an icon on your desktop, then you have probably downloaded the PC version that you can CUT from. It's hard to understand why you get a screen to watch a video on that version, though, because most of us are thrown into CCR with the mat coming up on the screen waiting for us to CREATE A NEW PROJECT.

Have you ever seen a mat come up in CCR?

If you can't get past the video you might need to change your screen resolution. The minimum it should be set at is 1024 x 768.

Once you've done that you should be able to check the box that says something like "don't show this again". You'll then be taken to the main mat screen.

I can't even get to the craft room. I click to open the program on my computer and I get an unending "initiating craft room" screen. Is the problem my computer or is the craftroom just too busy?

The problem is.....we don't get enough information, most times, when many of you come here to ask for help. THE ABSOLUTE EASIEST/BEST way to get help is to probably call ProvoCraft (go to SUPPORT at the top) because they can ask all the pertinent information based on the type of computer you're using and the internet browser you're using, etc.!

If you don't have the REQUIREMENTS on your computer (which we don't know if you do or don't, but we can help you find the information if you don't know how to find it) to even use CCR. There are guidelines and maybe you know that....we don't know if you know that.

If you want to give more information here, maybe we can offer something else to help you. BUT, it might be best to call PC.

Are you using BROADBAND/DSL internet? What browser are you using? When did you download CCR to your computer? Perhaps you used a broken link and might need to UNINSTALL CCR and ADOBE AIR now on your computer and go to cricut.com to get the very LATEST updated link and REINSTALL.

If you didn't see ADOBE AIR install on your computer immediately after CCR downloaded, then maybe that's the problem. Go to CONTROL PANEL and add/remove programs to see if ADOBE AIR shows up. If it's not there, this may be your problem. Do you need help getting it installed?

Let us know.

Char - i so agree with you...so many will come here for help but don't give enough information, no one is sitting here to answer each and every question so it would be best to give good information the first time in case someone does drop over they could get a good response in a few hours instead of days.

I always say to get a good answer ask a good question.

And, we're not trying to chase anyone off because they don't know we need more information.

I wish PC would have a forum with a blanket questionnaire at the top of every post that would be something like this, in the forums where questions like these are asked:

What CRICUT machine are you using?
What operating system do you have on your computer?
PC or MAC?
Have you downloaded the PC Version of CCR to your computer?
What is your question?

...and many more pertinent questions that would have to be answered before you could even ask the question.

Even then, we wouldn't know the answers, specifically. But, it would help.

It would help PC, too. I mean, wouldn't they start to see commonalities that might help them, too?

PLEASE DON'T STOP ASKING YOUR QUESTIONS. We all try to help where we can. So many times, when we do ask for more information, that poster doesn't come back to give more information.

It's not a big deal; we'd just like to see everyone get help more efficiently.

Are you using Windows 8? If so, you need to run CCR in compatibility mode as Windows 7. There are three programs you need to do this to. They are CCRBridge.exe, CricutSync.exe, and DriverUpdater.exe. You also need to run them as Administrator.

If you don't see all three of the files mentioned above you will need to re-download from the website. I also had to temporarily turn off my firewall and my virus protection to get the files to download correctly.

Run Files in Compatibility Mode as Windows 7

Go to your main drive (usually c:)
Open the Cricut Sync folder
Right click on CCRBridge.exe
Select Properties
Select the Compatibility tab
Under Compatibility Mode put a check mark in the box
Select Windows 7 from the drop down
Go to the bottom where it says Privilege Level
Check the box for Run as Administrator
I also selected the Change Settings for All Users box, but you don't have to do this

Repeat the above steps for CricutSync.exe
Repeat the above steps for DriverUpdater.exe

If you are NOT on Windows 8, try just setting the Files to Run as Administrator

Set Files to Run as Administrator

Go to your main drive (usually c:)
Open the Cricut Sync folder
Right click on CCRBridge.exe
Select Run as Administrator
Repeat the process with CricutSync.exe
Repeat the process with DriverUpdater.exe

I got the process from a support person. No one ever thinks to ask what operating system you're using and Cricut Craft Room WILL NOT WORK with Windows 8 unless you do this process.

Mine works perfectly now.

Hope this helps.

Suzan
