The mat that came with my new Cricut Mini is not very sticky. I have a heck of a time getting the paper to stick to the mat every time I cut something out. I've tried cleaning and rinsing it in warm water and letting it air dry, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I don't want to have to go through that whole procedure applying glue and all to get it to be stickier. How do I know if I purchase a new mat, it's going to be stickier than this one?

Any suggestions and is this typical of the mats that come with the machines?

Thanks! :)

Get the new mats. Either the ones that say "Cricut" across the center of the mat or the new ones that come in three different levels of stickiness. They are each a different color mat.

When my mats lose the sticky I use a little blue painters tape to hold the paper on the mat. Works perfectly. Its a little inconvenient but just takes an extra few seconds.
