I am totally frustrated with my Cricut. Over the last few days, it's not cutting through the cardstock or good quality scrapbook paper. The small areas are being torn. I have my pressure at the max setting and my blade at 6, I've slowed the speed for the more delicate images. I changed the blade too. I need this machine to work, as I'm preparing a project for a class I will teach. My machine has all the updates it needs. I sure hope someone can suggest something else.Mad

Have you tried a stickier mat?

If it's the regular Expression you're using you could try a reset.

If that doesn't help, it could be the blade housing itself.

You might need to call PC customer service. They were trialling Saturday morning hours a few months ago but I'm not sure if they still are. It's worth a try though.

Here's the reset instructions:

1-Turn on your machine with no cartridge loaded.
2-Rolls all the grey dials down to lowest setting.
3-Open up the front where the blade housing sits, use the black arms, with the
screw to pull that entire unit along its track over to the other side
Of the machine.
4-Over where that unit usually sits, if you reach back there with your fingers, you’ll
feel a red button sticking out.
Push and hold down that button for 5 seconds, counting to 5 slowly. Then let go.
5-Use the black arms to move that unit back into its place where it usually sits.
6-Next you are going to roll all the grey dials all the way up and all the way down 3 times,
so three times total for EACH dial-doing 3 cycles of each up & down (may do 1 at a time)
7-Now press the CUT button
8-Turn the machine off
9-Let your machine sit for a FULL 45 min to an hour
10-After that full time passes, load a cartridge on, turn on your machine and try a
practice cut of something simple.

This has happened to me also. I had little bits of paper in the blade housing. When you take it out and push down on the button as if you were going to replace the blade look and see if there is any bits of paper in there. This happens to me when I am using thicker paper.
Good luck I hope you get it fixed.

The same thing is happening to me. I called the support & they told me my blade housing was bad, so I ordered another one. At $30.00. Got it put it in & still doing the same thing.
Did the restart that was suggested here & my cricut is working wonderfully! <3
Thank you so much!
