I received my expression 2 for mother's day. It was frustrating in so many ways and I spent most of the day dealing with issue after issue. But most were eventually solved. Then today, I had problems cutting again. I have it on 6 but it has problems going through the American Crafts cardstock, leaving some barely cut. Not to mention that it then sticks like crazy to the mat. I am very frustrated and upset. I emailed a few times, but no response yet. Could it be a bad blade or housing???

I have also had problems with CCR being so slow and freezing on me. Is this normal?

having second thoughts

If I didn't know better I would have thought I wrote your message. Same problem. Just got my cricut for Mother's Day and it won't cut even on 6. So disappointed. Now have to wait for new housing and needle tool to come in mail.

Have you updated your Expression 2 through Cricut Sync?

That may help with some of the problems.

Also, when I cut cardstock I have to use multi-cut and cut through the cardstock a second time since cardstock is so thick.

As for the mat: usually it is really sticky the first few times you use it.

You can take a clean t-shirt and stick it to the mat and pull it off several times to make the mat less sticky.

Then later, when your mat isn't sticky enough just run it under running water and gently rub the paper scraps off and let dry. It will be good to go after it dries.

Thanks, yes I did sync it. My dh and I tried everything. I just hope customer service emails. Maybe the blade is a dud. I have put the mat through about 10 times now and still soooo sticky.

Maybe it is a bad batch. Where did you buy? Mine is from Michaels in Ontario, Canada.

West Springfield, MA Same with the sticky mat. Literally could not get it off with out ripping and pieces sticking. Will try the T-shirt idea. Thanks. Can't do much till I get my new needle.
Try calling. My daughter called for me and they are sending a new one. Think you're right. Might be a bad batch.

Call Cricut. They will help. It should cut cardstock with one cut. It could be the blade.

I just called customer service and the woman was very nice and helpful. She did a troublesheet & reset. It took about 20 minutes. She also helped me with my missing points. SO thankful!

I will update if this solved the cutting issue.

The cut I just made seemed good - still on 6 but it went through. The lady also fixed my missing points (they were not in the box with the Cricut). SO HAPPY!

Shout out to Norma Hansen - hopefully it is fixed now.

It cut 3 12x12 sheets full of images fine. Now the last 2 12x12 sheets are not cutting through. But no change in anything, including the paper. I don't understand why it would do that. I guess I'll have to call again tomorrow.

Should the cuts be inconsistent? Or do you think something is wrong with it?

Check the blade housing to clear out any bits of paper that may have stuck to the blade or got up into the housing.

That's usually whats wrong when my machine stops cutting properly.

HTH

If that doesn't help then call PC again. Since you just bought it, your machine is under warranty.

Thank you. I just did that and there was a little tiny shred of paper. Hopefully that helps.

BigGrin Just wanted to update. My housing needle device finally came in the mail but unfortunately it still didn't work. So my daughter returned the entire cricut to the retailer and got a new one. When we opened the new package it was obvious the first one had been already used and returned. It was packaged differently. The label was not directly on the screen but on the rubber covering, their was a reward sticker, the box was taped with cricut tape etc. So glad we returned it. My new one is great and can't stop playing with it. Cuts beautifully. Lots of fun.
