WHAT: USING DIES, MAKE 3 ITEMS (2 small dies = 1 regular)

You can make embellishments, tags, cards, decoration, tryptich, etc or a combination of items.
For example item one could be a pocket watch embellishment, a bird cage tag, and a 360 dresform decoration. Your partner may ask for three of the same thing but embellished and themed differently - example a pocket watch in a grunge, steampunk, and vintage themes. I will require that they be sturdy (back with chipboard), completely finished front and back, and embellished. Please make them little works of art. Since there is so much going on, I think I will put the due date as mid-august so everyone can work on them when they have time. It is a small swap but I want to give the time to do the extra details. It will be a partner swap. Once everyone has partners you can discuss the dies you have and maybe you have one that your partner has been wanting but has not received yet and vice- versa.

*******
to clarify questions -

Even if you use multiple cuts on 1 item - such as a tryptich - it is one item
You can use more than die on a project. (please see the inspiration what I mean by project...these are not large altered items)
If you are making an embellishment, please make it special.
you can supplement your projects with cricut cuts - please make sure things are sturdy. For example you can cut a tag with your cricut if you don't have a die.

Using good paper, materials, etc will enhance your project. These are small so it will not take much...it just makes it all worth it.

There is no requirement to go buy any specific dies.

TIME: Due to mail August 10th

a cool little village using artful dwellings; instead of a whole village could do one little house in the style your partner wants it...

Guess I could join this one, I have
quite a few dies now and
I just ordered a couple new ones.
that would be fun to play with, I don't have
the pocketwatch die but do have the TH clock die.
So I just looked up tryptich, looks like that is
a large altered canvas pic? Right?

A tryptic is a three paneled piece of art. It can be small though...

this woman does a really neat job with the dies on this
http://alisonbomber.blog...abbit-rabbit-rabbit.html (She uses 2 sizes of the cabinet card for this one.)

here she uses the same 2 dies and does a singular piece that is pretty cool

I can rak some die cut cuts on either black or natural medium wt chipboard if anyone would like to have a little more variety. BigGrin

I have quite the variety if you are looking for something in particular. Please specify what die or dies you would like cuts of and how many. I have most of the last releases for tim holtz as well as some other ones. For example on a pocket watch: you would just need to say one, and I would send you a base and a frame.

Okay, sign me up.

Here are my thoughts for now. May change once we get partnersSmile

1.what would you like? I like the idea of a tryptich for my DD to use for 2 pictures and include a saying to go along with the theme of travel, memories, beach vacation or friends. Modern or Vintage style

Cards would be nice also with a Vintage(girl)or Grunge(boy)Birthday theme

Colors nothing bright or neon

Etsy....my sister has the Big Shot and the Sizzix, but all of her dies are alphabets and paper dolls.....so a while ago, way before this swap I started buying them already cut out for real reasonable prices....most are a dollar for 3 cuts on chipboard.
But I also recently took Kelley up on her offer to cut some for me....I really do adore the people on this RAK and Swap forum.....so helpful.

I've seen people sell them on Ebay too but always wondered who'd buy them; now I knowLOL But my initial reaction was "why doesn't she just ask one of her gajillion swap friends?" Laugh Let us know if you want some more (although Kelley probably has them all..)

COB...it is really hard for me to ask for things from family, friends, strangers....my husband gets so mad at me. I have RA and some days are really bad. I try to do things myself and like vacuuming is really hard on me, especially my left shoulder as I had surgery on it for Adhesive Capsulitis and then I broke it while trying to get a urine sample from my diabetic dog, rather than ask someone else to do it. It takes me an eternity to do it rather than bother someone else. My therapist used to call it 5th child syndrome. I either had to wait my turn form something or do it myself growing up. I was ironing my school uniform blouses by the time I was 8. So, this is new to me....asking for cuts and such. I even have a hard time asking for them in the Cut RAK....lol

Quick questionBlushing

We need to post 3 things the same or different that we would like to receive.

We don't just send embellished die cuts(unless our partner asks) We actually make something using the embellished cuts?
This would be dscussed once we get partners and see what each has for dies?

thanks

I would love a tryptich, a cigar box, cards
altered frame( for 4 by 6 photos) or any new cool
project you want to try.
I usually prefer soft pastels, or neutrals in shabby chic or vintage look.

This would be dscussed once we get partners and see what each has for dies?

thanks
