Jean, what technique did you do on the covers? great job. Love the skull with wings. The inside has little vinettes from Steampunk Spells Pictures will be posted a little later by my friend Debbie, Thanks again Jean for a wonderful book

Glad that you liked it. I am not a big fan of Steampunk or Halloween but I wanted to make what you asked forBigGrin It actually was fun!!!!!!

All I did was mix 3 different colors of Chunky Embossing Powders and then heat embossed it on the dominos. I think I did it about 3 times adding a little EP at a time.

With the high temps here, it was hard to keep the domino stuck on the rest of the book. I hope they held together for youBigGrin

Tips of the day -

Getting to really know your partner through pms, emails, etc. really helps in creating something special for her. It can make the difference in making something she will like and something she will loveBigGrin Plus the upside to it is that you can make some amazing friendships in the process. I know I certainly have.Wub

Don't always be committed to plan A. At some point if plan A isn't working, move on with plan b, c, d, e... etc. SOmetimes it comes out even better than expected.

When I made my first paint brush, everything came out as I had planned. I was able to undo the seam of the brush, pull out the block and reseam it fairly cleanly. I was very pleasantly surprised. For another swap I decided to make another one. I was able to undo the seam of the brush and pull out the block easily. The reseaming part was unfortunate though. I could not get it reseamed. I tried for over an hour. Frustrated I set it aside and went to bed. Then the next day attempted it again and after 1 hr and 1/2 I finally got it seamed but it looked like crap. You know that sinking feeling you get.... either I needed to start over with a new brush or send something that looked like crap.

Then Plan B entered my mind. What could I use to look like metal and get rid of the metal piece all together. So I ran my list of options. Paper with metal tape, grunge with metal tape, or plain grunge board. Since I was applying a rust treatment to the whole thing, I decided I could just use the plain grunge board. I embossed and painted with gesso before applying the rust solution. In the end it looked as though it was still the metal piece but better. I loved the end result and will do it that way from now on. Plus it was way easier to do it that way.

Cute farm frame. I like the layers.

Great domino album. I need to play more with embossing, I love that look!

Inspiration finally hit and I bought some stuff this weekend and prepped my altered item. I REALLY wanted to stay home today and play BigGrin ......but I had to work instead. Mad

Hello to my partner Altina! Hope everything is working out.

Guess I did not realize it had been that long since I posted. Know I have been here a couple of times in the last few days.

I just need to get in the habit of posting something when I come on. Will be better once everyone starts posting pictures (That is of course I can see themMad Mad ).

I have changed my item 3 times and now not sure about the one I have either. Just frustrated with my envisions not coming out the way I want them to. But I will keep plugging along and hopefully one will turn into something beautiful.

I finally have some inspiration. I really hope this turns out like I want it to, not too plain OR crazy looking.
The domino album is very cool, now I kind of wish I would've joined that side also.
The frame is so cute also. I just love seeing what everyone makes.

Hope all is doing well. Reminder that the due date to mail is the third and you have a one week grace until the 10th. I am not going to extend beyond the 10th as I want to get everything wrapped up and finished off by the 15th ish.

Thanks, K

Hope everyone is doing well. Does anyone have any questions? There are so many experienced ladies here, I am sure we could come up with an answer.

Good heavens you people are punctual! Just giving this one my full attention now since I finally sent out the configurations tray. It's been gessoed and base coated for awhile but I'm still not sure I'll use it since I doubt I'll find a box big enough but don't really have a plan B. Hopefully I'll find some inspiration in the next day or so!
