I just brought home my new Circut Expression 2 and I cannot get the paper to stick to the cutting mat. As soon as it starts to cut the image my paper starts sliding around. Suggestions?

Did you take the clear cover off the mat? Generally, the mats are very sticky and people complain about the paper being so stuck to them when they are new that it's difficult to remove the paper.

Are you using a Cricut cake mat {reddish pink}? Those don't have adhesive on them because with the cake Cricut, you use shortening to stick your food product onto the mat.

I use painters tape on the edge of my paper when my mat does not hold the paper.

I use scotch removable tape on my mats, just the corners and a little bit of the sides and it works perfectly. Much easier than trying to get the stuff on to make it sticky again.
