I am trying, always trying, to be more organized in my scrap/craft room. Today I am cleaning out a basket full of extra cuts that I may or may not use. Some have been in there for more that a year. I feel bad throwing them away but, I also don't want to be on the next episode of hoarders!

What are some suggestions or ideas that you all have used to keep your extra cut organized?

I have mine in a tote and I made dividers for them It works out great for me because I know exactly where they are and it is easy to find the different themes.

I don't cut extras. I might make one for a friend at the same time I make mine or I might have to remake one cause I cut it wrong or messed it up...but I never make extras that I have to store.

I have a couple of drawers in a stack of 12 x 12 sterlite drawers that i keep my extra cuts in. The remaining drawers I use for my scrap paper and store by color. I let my 4 year old granddaughter use my extra cuts for her "scrapbooks". I give her my extra unused pictures too. She loves to glue anything to a piece of paper even if it is just another piece of paper. I do keep my extra flowers that I make in a seperate smaller drawer stack. The pics below show the drawer stack and my granddaughter craft table.

I hate throwing out my mistakes too. Right now I keep mine in Ziploc bags too, they come in handy for quick last minute projects/fixes. I also keep all of my paper scraps in plastic containers. They're organized by colors. My girlfriend used to tease me about saving even tiny scraps until she had a couple of projects where she needed little pieces and did not want to waste a piece of paper for them. She now keeps her paper scraps in a plastic container too!!
