Ok so I just got my cuttlebug recently and I bought a couple of Darice 5X7 embossing folders, but they don't seem to fit. I do my sandwich (A plate, B plate, Folder, B plate) and it almost seems like it's too tight that I might break my machine. Is this normal? I ended up having to remove a B plate and using chipboard shims instead. My cuttlebug folder works just fine though.

I don't have the C plate. I'll have to see if I can find one at Michaels or Walmart. Thanks for the suggestion!

I just bought a Cuttlebug - not even out of the box yet! What are the best folders to buy? Do Darice folders work well? They seem to be on sale ALOT!
Are there any hints you can share about the Cuttlebug? Designs? Folders? I am an emoting virgin. :). ALL HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED !!
Thank you,
Meg

Spookysnip,

Your sandwich is correct...some folders vary slighly due to the manufacturing process and some Cuttlebug's vary in how much pressure they apply. I would give it a go and just know that cranking will be tight and tough..I have over 300 embossing folders from numerous manufacturers and I have never had one not work..having said that..I will say that I felt your exact concerns with a few until my machine was well used and the tension actually loosened up a bit. I eventually sold mine for a motorized one as I did not like to crank by hand. Best of luck:)
