I just bought(at Wal Mart) a Cricut mini. I have looked on ebay at cartridges, my question is I have seen some cartridges that say they are used and linked. So...what does that mean to me as a buyer if I was to purchase something like that? Confused

A linked cart means someone has made a digital copy of the images from the cart, either through CCR or a gypsy, to their cricut.com account. When they linked the cart, the Terms Of Use they agreed to stated they would not sell the cart after linking it. It's like buying a music CD or movie DVD and making a copy and then selling the original.

That aside, a linked cart will still work in your Cricut but a linked cart cannot be linked to another account. When using CCR, you will be prompted to insert the cart before the images will cut. A linked cart cannot be used with a gypsy.

It means that you can never link that cartridge to your CCR account. You can only use it in your machine. Once a cartridge is linked to someone's account, it can never be unlinked. However, it will work perfectly well in a machine.

Unfortunately for you the cricut mini is not a stand alone machine. Meaning that you must use the Cricut Craft Room design application (or a Gypsy ) to cut images with the mini.

S0, unless you get a different machine ( Cricut Original, Expession or Expression2) you can not use previously linked cartridges. For use with your mini, do NOT buy linked cartridges.
