Where is a good site to purchase Vinyl? I am having issues every time I "lift" the cut letters, then transfer them to my wood/canvas, etc... It seems the vinyl isn't sticky enough! I have to literally peel every individual letter from my vinyl sheet (once it's cut) then peel each letter from the transfer tape. It's very frustrating and time consuming! Confused
Thank you

it sounds like you are cutting too deep. from what I have read, when cutting vinyl, have the blade set to a lower setting..maybe 2 cause it's not suppose to cut the backing on the vinyl.

...answered on your other post also...

What kind of vinyl? There are several types. Indoor is Oracal 631, Outdoor is Oracal 651.

What kind of transfer tape are you using?

How long have you let the paint cure before trying to transfer? It is very hard to get vinyl to stick to fresh paint. It is also on of the most difficult things to get it to stick to canvas. I have heard of some using Mod Podge to coat the canvas first, then apply the vinyl after that has dried and cured.

What kind of paint did you use on your board? It takes anywhere from 48 hours to 3 weeks for the paint to cure enough to easily apply vinyl.

Some of the new low VOC paints ("green paints - not color, but environmentally safer) will not work with vinyl at all.

How are you cutting the vinyl? Are you using the "kiss cut" - only cutting through the vinyl, but not cutting into the backing?

I order nearly all my vinyl from Expressions and have no trouble.
