I found what seemed like a great price on the pink ATG ($7.50) and picked it up, but I'm on the fence if i really need it. So give me the pros and cons of it!

I really like my pink ATG when I use it. I thought it was going to be too bulky and big and weigh a lot and the trigger hard to depress, but it is a pleasure to use.

That's a great price! I did have one. I always hated to put in the refill with all of the threading around you had to do. Mine seemed to come off quite a bit. Then one time when I was putting in the refill, a spring popped out. That's it.....I said! I then bought a Xyron Mega Runner and wouldn't change back for anything. You just take out the old one, put in the refill, and it is great. It isn't as bulky as the other one. I can now get the refills at M's so I can use the 40% off coupon.

I agree with " I always hated to put in the refill with all of the threading around you had to do. Mine seemed to come off quite a bit." I don't know why but lately mine seems to come unthreaded. For some reason I just avoid it when I'm in a hurry and resort to other tape s.

What a great deal!!! I bought one because of peer pressure and no self control. It took a couple days to get use to it but I love it now. That's my go to adhesive.

I had trouble changing the rolls the first couple of times but then I got smart and decided instead of pulling off the used roll and then opening the new one....I open the new roll lay it down the way it should go onto the gun and then remove the used roll. One day it will become second nature to me to change it but for now...I gotta program myself in the simplest way possible Laugh

I also had trouble with the adhesive wanting to slide off the roller when applying the adhesive. This was easy to fix. I made a shim and now I have no problems using the gun in any area. To make the shim, I recycled the paper part of a roll of scotch masking tape, trimmed off the extra paper to make it into a circle. The center is already cut to fit onto the spindle of my ATG. Here's a link you can go to that explains it better than I am.

http://airbornewifestamp...-in-my-atg-guns.html?m=1

Just incase ya wanna read what people said when I was asking about it...here's a link to that topic here on the cricut MB..

http://www.content.cricu...tst153709_ATG-gun.aspx?=

Oh, and also here on the MB's, there are a couple people who do Tape Shares. I've participated in the ones Scrap2do has hosted. That is when someone does a bulk buy of the rolls that can be used with the guns. I've stocked up on rolls. Think I have about 40 left. Here's a link to one so you can see what they are like.

http://www.cricut.com/fo...are----Any-interest.aspx

Sorry I got so gabby. But I just went thru all the questions and learning the ATG earlier this year so this might save ya some time and hassles.

Joyce

When I first saw others get an ATG, I thought it was silly...so big and expensive. But then the pink one came out, and I got it with a coupon and I won't use anything else.

I used to use other tape runners, but they ran out quickly and I was throwing away lots of empty cartridges...with the ATG, its a small ring and the paper from the adhesive that gets thrown away.

Also, some tape runners I've used in the past - the adhesive dried up and all my pages were falling apart! I had to reglue them with my ATG. I KNOW I won't go back to that tape runner ever again!

WIth the price you got for it, I'd say that was great and once you start using it, you will love it!

Of course you don't NEED one.... but at that price - keep it!!

I love mine because the tape never runs out. Or at least, by the time it runs out, I've forgotten how to thread the new tape on. and it's super sticky - I've used it where other adhesives have not held my project together.

If you decide you don't want it, I'll pay you the $7.50 plus shipping!LOL

I have 3 of them. I bought the original 1/4" one (red) way back in 2006 when it was very expensive and hated it! When the pink ones came out, I dug it out and started using it and found that I loved it! I now have 3 - orig red one, pink one for my tote and got the yellow 1/2" (which will work with all sizes of tape using an adapter) one. I am finding that I use the wider tape alot for my bigger stuff and love it! I have mine in a plastic brochure holder that I used to use for my greeting cards (tried to find one online but couldn't. I can't add pictures). It will hold one gun in each slot. Works great!

Forgot to say that the price you paid is fantastic!!! I paid $45 for my first one. Luckily the last one was free.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! I've had one for about 3-4 years now. It's my go to adhesive for everything! At the price you paid for it, it's a keeper. The kids use it for school work too. I usually order tape, twice a year. 12 rolls + shipping is $28 (thetapedepot.com)

I like my pink one. I was glad when the cheaper priced pink ones came to local stores. As soon as they did I snatched one up with a coupon. Once you get use to loading them you will be fine. The tape lasts.

I love using my ATG glue gun. The first one I purchased online(red)and purchased a dozen rolls of the gold(the more you brought, the cheaper the cost per roll). I purchased the pink one from Michaels with a 50% off coupon. I use the red one for acid free tape and the pink one for generic tape. I had an opportunity to get the purple one free at a Michael's crop night prize but I passed and chose another prize.

Yes! Where did you find it for that price? I use mine most of the time. I used to love the dotto tape runner but the refills were very expensive for their size. It's really surprising how easy the ATGs are to use once you get the hang of them.

I put off getting one for a long time thinking it was big and bulky and would be hard to use but it is not at all.

I do a lot of card making and some mini photo albums and didn't want to use the more expensive photo tape for cards so I bought two ATG guns.
One has general use tape in it for cards, etc.
The other has the photo tape in it for photo related projects.

I always seem to forget to leave the old roll in until I open the new one so I can remember which way to thread it. lol
So off to YouTube I go and watch a how to load video and all is well.

I would say keep it especially at that price.

I stock up on the tape at Michaels whenever I have a 50% off coupon.
Honestly I go in everyday and bring in whatever family member I can drag in get as many as possible.

I have never regretted getting them.

Hugs
D~

I have the yellow one with adapter for 1/2" tape. I have the pink one for 1/4" tape.
My pink one seems to want to create a slack in the tension. So I have to wind the tape on manually a lot. The yellow one I is not so glichey.
I like this better then the little tape runners.
I like my glue glider pro also. It is smaller.
I'm thinking of getting the Xyron Mega runner and give that a try also.

I got at Hancock Fabrics they aren't going to carry them anymore, from my understanding. at my store they were still marked $18, but rang up at $7.50
