I know that we will probably be seeing all the holiday swaps posting in a month or so. I myself plan on hosting a couple so that is why I am posting this.BigGrin

I want to see if anyone would be interested in my posting my 4th annual Christmas Recipe Swap in the next week or 2 instead of in Oct. You would make 16 6X6 recipe pages. All cookies this timeBigGrin

My reasoning behind this thinking is that most swaps seem to be winding down and there will be a few weeks for everyone to take a break. I know we have all been doing lots of crafting lately and do need a breakSmile
If I post this swap now, you can design and make these at your leisure without being swamped with swaps. You would have time to enjoy the process of crafting and maybe have a little fun while doing it. I personally like to do my swaps ahead but I also like the fact that I am not rushed and can work at my own pace. I can design one week, cut my papers another week, print my recipe another week, etc, etc.

My main purpose is so that you can relax and enjoy making these. I don’t want everyone to say "hey that is great" and then end up in Nov saying “OMG the due date is 2 weeks away and I haven’t started these yet”. If that were the case, then I could just wait and post in Oct!!!!!

So I am looking for some feed back here from all you crafty ladies.
Thanks and be honestSmile

You already know that I plan on joining and I want to make mine in Sept as I have time before it gets too hectic.

Plus, on a side note.... Jean and I have been putting our heads together for 2 Christmas swaps that I will be posting first part of September, but not due until end of Nov. and first half of December.

So it's looking like the holiday swapping season is soon upon us!

I hope you all rest up or catch up with life and then join all the holiday swapping fun!

I am definitely joining your recipe swap regardless of when you have it, but I am like you. I like to do things in stages too. I would like the extra time to work on my pages.BigGrin ThumpUp

If I were going to join I would say it was a great idea; swaps are so much better when you can take your time.

I think everyone needs a change on this message board and I think you ladies came up with a great idea as long as you don't get the people rushing last minute its hard to tell if you get new people joining your swaps you could always make a rule that they need to send in two weeks early along with the people trying to clear their names from a previous swaps

Hi

Count me in either way. Just knowing what I have on my plate is good, even if not due for awhile. A recipe card of 6x6 is sometimes easier to do at leisure, as you suggest, than other swaps would be (i.e. design once, cut 16 times versus working on a single swap project that would take a lot of time and special supplies)

Gwyn - I would be interested in your Xmas swaps too.

I would love it if you posted early, but had a longer time to mail in. I am in 3 swaps all due in September and that is my limit. That said, I LOVE 6x6 recipe pages. I would definitely be more likely to consider joining if the pages were due in Oct.

Sharlene,

Here is a link to one I made a while back. I put the recipe on the front.

Here is a link to one my friend did. Her recipe is on the back.

Hope this is helpful. They are very fun to make and you get some great recipes.
