I want to blackout a face, just cut the outline of the image in Create a Critter. I searched for an answer and all just say to "use the blackout feature". WHERE IS IT? I have the digital cart, but when I look at the downloaded booklet, I can't find a blackout key. I am new to this and have never done blackout anyway, I may be way off base. Help?

On the book I see "shadow", I think that would do the same as what you want to do.

CAC does not have the blackout feature that you have seen referenced. On most of the images, there is no detail lines on the base cut so you get the same affect as blackout. There are a few that I see like the penguin, ladybug and turkey that have some detail lines. To get rid of those, you would need to use either cricut craftroom design program or gypsy and do the "hide contour". Very easy to do. The shadow feature on CAC would give you a blackout image but would be somewhat distorted because it is a fatter cut but may give you a satisfactory cut if you did not want to shadow what you are cutting.

The blackout feature that some carts have give you the design features that basically the base cut and layer 1 of CAC give you. The layer 1 has eyes, etc cut out and then when layered over the base cut (blackout) the base layer color shows throught the layer 1 cut to make the eyes of the critter.

BTW - I love that cartridge - such cute critters.

Yes, I use the base cut on this cart whenever I want to stamp the faces rather than have them cut out. HTH. GG
