I am going to be purchasing a Cricut for the first time, besides the actual device, what other items should I have to get started?

I am considering either the original..or going for broke and getting Expressions 2

Thanks!!

You will need cartridges (or digital cartridges). You can't cut without owning the image that you want to cut.

Go or broke lol, I got the baby and within the year I purchased the E, from there I have the E2 and the Gypsy. You need paper, adhesive, cartridges. I'm sure someone has a special on the E somewhere and it may come with 1 or 2 carts. Also these guys on here are great they sale carts that they don't use anymore. I have purchased, sold and traded carts on here. I hope this information helped have fun. BigGrin

I have never tried the E2, but have the Expression, the Mini & the Imagine. I currently own an Imagine & an E & prefer the E to all of them. It is the most versatile machine. It uses the 12 x 12 mat & the 12 x 24 mat also. I don't use the 12 x 24 often, but I have it when I need it.

You will want a tool kit & extra mats also. Go to YouTube for excellent tutorials also.

Consider getting some extra mats and blades. And the Cricut spatula is great for lifting your cuts off the mat without them curling.

The Expression has been discontinued (that hasn't been confirmed by PC yet to my knowledge) and the E2 has the latest technology.
