A friend of mine just bought a used Gypsy and when she plugged it in and turned it on the blue light came on the power button but the screen stayed black! I told her to reset on back and try again. Nothing, still black! I tried to click the power button so it would show, (standby, turn off, cancel), but nothing...still black. Has this happened to anyone and if so what is wrong with it? Does it have to go to get a new screen or just the lights behind it? Thanks for any ideas.

Call customer service. They might be able to talk you through a fix. If not, ProvoCraft has a Gypsy repair service now. You might have to send it in for repair. Ask the customer service rep about this while you have her on the phone.

Thanks, I plan on calling customer service on Monday but I was hoping to find some help here! I read a few other posts and I have tried to reset it several times and that is not working. Thanks anyway!

Sounds like the "black screen of death" and will more than likely have to be sent in to be repaired. Sorry. Crying

Your friend just brought this Gypsy, surely she can return it, as clearly it's faulty?

As it was a used gypsy it was probably broken before she bought it.... Sad
