A little new here. I've had my Cricut since Christmas and since the first time I've used it, it has always cut right down to the mat. I thought this was normal and thought nothing of it. (Gone through plenty of mats) I've been trying to cut Vinyl, I started with the "kiss cut" and it went straight through the vinyl backing down to the mat. So I went down to pressure 1 and blade depth 1 and it still is cutting through the vinyl backing and down to the mat. I've just been dealing with it and carefully using it, but I am trying to cut a large intricate project and it just still isn't working and quite frankly--driving me nuts.

I am using outdoor vinyl 651 from a vinyl shop so I know it is thinner than the indoor vinyl 631. However, I HAVE used 631 vinyl with the same results. Am I still doing something wrong?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

It sounds like your blade housing unit might be installed too low. Here's a photo of how it should be sitting in the arm.
