I bought a Cricut about 4 or 5 years ago. It's been sitting in a drawer for years. I've stopped making card, etc. which I don't like. We are going on a Disney Cruise in February. I want to make door magnets for the cruise. I have a Mickey and Friends cartridge. So I am just now looking at all of this. I cut out some Mickey heads, but it doesn't seem like the paper is cutting all the way through. Any suggestions? Also - taking inventory after looking at the instruction book, I may have misplaced the piece you use to hook the cricut up to the craft room. Will any computer cable thing work?

Hi there.
Yes, any printer USB cable will work to connect your machine to your computer for Cricut Craft Room use.

Hope this helps!

What do you have your blade set on? Is your mat nice and sticky,if not these could be the reason it paper isnt being cut all the way thru.

How do you set the blade? The mat almost seems too sticky. I made a page of 2" Mickey Heads. My husband wants to use the paper I cut to stencil our suitcases. But nothing came out "clean". It's like perforated and I get ragged/torn edges.

Since you've had your Cricut for a while, you probably have one of the older models {no touchscreen but dials for all the settings}. For the blade depth, turn the knob on top of the blade housing unit. Six is the deepest. For the pressure, turn the pressure dial. It will either have numbers with the highest number being the most pressure or word settings such as Max, High, Med, Low.

If you're making stencils to paint the design onto your suitcase, I would use contact paper to make the stencil. It will hold up after multiple uses where cardstock or paper will get soggy.

That's funny, i just cut 40 2 inch Mickey heads today myself, had to do last minute birthday party favors. Are you using card stock?
