I am trying to use Craft Room for the first time, everything is going smoothly until I hit "cut" (my mat will load, etc.) but once I hit cut I sit at the "cutting" screen forever and nothing happens. I need this for an event this week and am at a loss of what to try (I've updated my cricut, restarted everything a few times, etc.)

When you press CUT on the cut screen, what happens? Does it say it's cutting or do you get an error message?

Are there more than one mat layer? If so, did you select the one you want to cut?

Did you turn on your Cricut after opening CCR? If not, it might not be finding your Cricut.

One other thing to check - are you cutting from your cartridge or a digital image you purchased? I had an issue a while back on a digital image - and had to change my machine in CCR to an Imagine (even though I have an Expression) and choose Print only.

It says it's cutting but nothing happens. My cricut will say Connected to USB...and then it just goes back to the "select an image and press cut..." message. I don't think it has more than one layer - but this is my first time so maybe I somehow created another layer without realizing it. I will check on that...

I had saw online someone posted about switching it to an Imagine machine and trying it that way - still didn't work. :(

Thanks so much for your suggestions...I'll keep trying or give them a call today.

Have you updated the firmware on your Expression yet?

And have you installed the expression drivers to your computer? You do that from the help menu in CCR.

Mine does exactly this. Things that sometimes work for me; restarting Craft Room, restarting the Expression, or saving the document. Recently I noticed the pressure wasn't set to what Craft Room specified so I reset it and that worked. Sooooo annoying. Also I have to update firmware everyday or I can't cut - really Provo Craft!!!??? Please get it together already, geez... Crying
