I attempted to cut using my Gypsy and Baby Bug, after having updated firmware on them both. One item on the layer will cut, then it will stop on the way to the next. Here's the full error displayed on my Gypsy:

"Communication with Cricut lost. Please power off and back on your Cricut, check your connections and click "OK". If this error continues, click "Update" to see if you need to update your Cricut."

I've powered on/off, and hit "Update" and which wasn't needed. Nothing is working.

Personal Cricut is running v. 1.45
Gypsy v. 1.4

I've seen that others have had this error in the last few months, but I'm not seeing any resolution posts on the topic. Support is closed on the weekend, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. TIA!

I'm experiencing the same issue. I was worried that my Gypsy was failing and would eventually stop working. Anyone have a solution for this issue yet?

Check the cable. I get this message on my Create and CE2 every once in the while. I think the cable wiggles out a bit after some cutting. I usually just power everything off and replug the cable the cable back into the cutting machine. The cable has never fit snuggly in my Create.

Update to my original post..... I did contact PC support regarding this issue (7 months ago). They sent me out a new cord, which did nothing, still got the same error mid-cut. I was basically told that the technology of the baby bug machines is old, and if I continued to have probs, it would be best to upgrade machines. I wish I never did the last updates on my baby bug and gypsy... I had no issues previously. That being said, yesterday I pulled out the baby bug and gypsy and did a few simple letter cuts. It worked fine. The error seems to be triggered on the more intricate cuts, it's like it can't hold the memory of the cut, and drops the communication between devices.

Perhaps a future update may resolve.....??
