continuing: more of Directive 18 contents, Directive 19 that wouldn't fit inside the drawers, Directive 11. No picture of Directive 20 as I didn't take a picture when I changed it out for Ali - which was distress markers, copic marker, TH waterbrush. Directive 12 is a Noel banner.

You did what you thought was best. Can't blame you for making a decision based on what you knew at the time.

Glad that you are still making and sending some things to Lori.
It shows what kind of person you are!!!!!!!

Nice goodies you made also. Hoping both Ali and Lori enjoy them.

Thanks Gwynne...this was our first Christmas in our house that we finished building this past summer and your creations added a nice touch. The advent box is a wonderful idea and its is out on a shelf in my scrap studio. Thanks so much for the various glimmer sprays..can't wait to find time to use them.

Thanks again,
Ali

I'll get that link for the advent box. It's actually pretty easy! lol It's really just making matchboxes and stacking them in a specific way.

Here's the blog I discovered that I scraplifted a few items from for this xmas swap:

http://frommycraftroom.b...ugs-advent-calendar.html

and if you scroll down in her directions for the advent box she will send you to another blog with instructions too.

And I'm not sure now which set of measurements I used. I messed around and adjusted them slightly to work for me.

And I wanted mine very sturdy to last and hold up so I cut out extra 5.5 or 6 inch squares of my best CS and I adhered that square on top of each set of drawers before building the next layer of drawers. I thought it worked better for me to do that - gave me a sturdy foundation to build on each layer and to keep me from tilting like the tower of Pisa! lol

I did not use my best paper for the drawers though. I used a pkg. of kraft colored CS from Hobby Lobby. Their line of paper. A blogger giving a tutorial on a vertical mini album that Jean and I have both made recommended using that paper in her tutorial so I picked up a pkg. when it was on sale and I must say that I really like working with the kraft paper in both the vertical mini and in this advent tower. It seems to fold nicely without feathering or tearing when you are doing projects that require a lot of folding and burnishing of the folds. It's a thin paper but for some odd reason it still seems sturdy instead of flimsy.

But like I said, maybe me sandwiching the layer of heavy CS between each level of drawers also helped to sturdy up the entire framework. I used good adhesives too.

Gwen love all the items you made they are beautiful.

Thanks for the tip on the HL CS .. Another reason for me to visit my son and go to HL.. LOL will once he gets water back.. it has been 7 days now without water. Yes he lives in the town affected by the chemical spill. He did come home for 3 days but had to be back to work on Monday. The state wanted to show that everything was getting back to normal. HAHA..

I have been watching a lot of videos from CHA and they have some insteresting items out there not a lot that i can't live without but a couple I would not mind getting.

Thank you once again for a great swap and you are a wonderful hostess.
