I'm trying to cut out Disney Characters but the layer sizes don't come up correct, how do I do that? what is relative? I read another post but have no clue what that is..... new to craft room but been using cricut along time and seems easier to just do it normal way than in craft room.

In order to cut a bunch of layers for one image (especially in the Disney carts!!!),

!. select the size you want for the finished image, set that on your machine

2. be sure your setting is on relative size, not real size (this is the important part!!)

3. cut all your pieces without changing the size!

This will cause all the pieces/layers to cut proportionally to fit the finished size for your image. It took me a few tires to figure this out. There used to be an explanation in the handbooks, but it wasn't very clear. PC product development really dropped the ball on this one.

My rule of thumb is to always leave your machine set on relative size. The only time I've used real size is when I was using a "moon" image from a composite picture to cut circles. I set the machine on real size to get just the circle cut at the size I wanted.

HTH!! and post what you make when you get it to work!

Oh, and if you're doing eyes for the princesses or some of the other really tiny pieces... I give up and use a marker.

Hi!
One tip to remember with the Disney acute is that there is a base layer, usually black and this is not the shadow. All the body and face pieces get glued to the base layer.

There are supposed to be spaces around the little pieces, that is what gives the cartoon look, and why the base is usually black.

Once I realized this I had less trouble putting Disney characters together

Hope this helps
