Is it possible to cut my own designs on the Cricut Expression? I am using an eCraft machine at the moment, but have the chance to have an Expression. What I particularly need to be able to do is to cut various card shapes, such as stepper cards, fancy tent cards, etc. Is this possible?

I've designed my own step cards and such using the free Cricut Craft Room design program and the free Craft Room Basics image set. It all depends on what you want to cut and if you can recreate it in CCR. Here's two that I designed and cut, both the card base and the decorations, using CCR and Cricut carts.

Here's an easel card I designed and cut in CCR:

And a rocker card:

You don't need to be able to "trace" images to create your own designs.

Thanks for your replies. I have had the Expression for a few years and used to use it with SCAL and MTC. Then I got the eCraft, shortly after that they stopped the 3rd party software working so I decided I would sell the Expression (although I didn't try too hard). I am now finding that I can't always rely on the eCraft to get the positioning right, so I started wondering whether things had advanced with the Cricut to the extent of making it worth getting out again. I am not interested in cutting all the cute shapes and wording, etc.
I have a Pazzles Inspiration at home which cuts anything I throw at it, and figured that as they are fairly closely related then having the Cricut in the shop would be a good idea. I think maybe I should get it out and see if what I want to do can be done by manipulating basic shapes as you suggest. I wish Provocraft would get their act together and make it possible to cut your own stuff as well as cartridges. After all it could potentially double their sales of machines.
