I want to buy a Cuttlebug and have been researching for a while. I think I would rather have the earlier version since the length of the flap extensions are a full 6" shorter on the V2.
I think the lighter weight is achieved from cutting back on what is useful to the user. The extension flaps look very small and it does not look like it would balance the plates without a hand always holding them onto it.
Has anybody had both versions and noticed a difference in ease of use?
I have also read that many people using this machine has to replace the B plates quite often as they warp really fast.
Can one still buy the older version?

thanks!

I've read there's not much difference. The handle stores away in the V2 and its suppose to be lighter weight. But that's the only difference from reviews I read. I have V1 and I love it. I haven't seen a V2 and wont be looking since I'm happy with the one I have.

Even though the plates warp, you can still continue to use them. I've never replaced any of my boards and I've had my cuttlebug for 6-7 years now.

Thanks for the reply.
I will continue looking for a Cuttlebug V1 as the big difference is they took off so much length off of the flap extensions in the V2.
I compared pictures of them both and the difference was very noticeable. I think it will be much more convenient and easier to balance the plates on the older version. I hope I can find one.
