PC just changed their photo on FB and said to make sure you're signed up for their emails.

No idea what it is, but I have a few guesses! Can't wait for the email!

So what are your guesses?! Whatever it is it sure looks sleek and pretty!!!
I wish it would be something to be able to use CCR without the internet! I am going on a weekend scrap up north at the end of this month and there is no internet connection thereMad .

Because I'm crazy and an optimist, I'm going to guess it's a new gypsy that docks in a new Expression that prints and scans too! Love (thereby guaranteeing I'm completely wrong, but may be in part, at least, right...lol)

Just got a teaser Email! I need to know I will be up all night as Cricut says we will be in the email. I hope this new machine comes out on HSN so I can do flex payments on my HSN card.

I just got a teaser email titled 'Find out what's keeping us up at night'.

The image appears to be very dark but if you look very closely, you can make out a new machine!!!

I can see a small on/off button with a larger round button underneath it and 3 smaller buttons underneath that.

The words across the image say:

"My friends are posting about not wanting to get up... and I'm still cutting away!" Beta tester "Rebecca"

I'm not done reading the patent yet, but I am GUESSING, kinda looks like a new CCR or a new Gypsy that uses internet. There is a lot about cloud storage that a lot on this board does not like.
I like what I see. But I don't think the ones who don't like digital will like it.

Ok going to read more.

Huh Got the email too...
Mellow I'm going to bed..
ThumbDown I'm not interested
Crying I don't have FAITH in PC anymore
Blink I only had my Imagine a year when they discontinued it...that was a shocker!!
Sad Now they don't even support my lovely gypsy that I can't live without...
BigGrin I'm content with what I already have and no more.
I don't trust PC anymore and this MB just doesn't have the inspiration it used too.
Crying My cricut products are getting boring.
ThumpUp I still post trying to inspire and encourage others...but its not working.
We need more than a new machine...
Scared Now everyone will be griping cause they're not a tester and when will it be out? how long must we wait? then the problems begin with the machine, once its out...etc, etc...(yawn) Good-Night

Patent looks mostly like new software but pic show the software can go through {handheld device, gypsy was pictured} OR Laptop Or Straight to Cricut. Not sure if the software is on a tablet or what but it has cloud storage, and looks like you can share projects to blogs or other websites write from the design software. And you can also sent to a printer, I assume a wifi printer. Looks like you can explode the image, for example, a paper doll fully dressed, you can hit a button and her hair, dress and all extra cuts separate into separate cuts so you can cut or send to printer to print. Says you can paint, shade and pattern an image too.

This is what I got from reading the patent, that is hard to understand. I am NOT a lawyer so I am guessing.

What ever it is i want it.

I also received the 'staying up all night' email. Immediately logged into this board and thanks to Scrapalette's link, viewed the pictures & read most of the patent. I agree with Melody Lane that if you don't like digital you may not like the new machine.

The last picture is definitely a gypsy or simile of a G, the 'cloud' feature is mentioned quite a bit and so is CCR.

My guess (which I know is completely wrong) would be ...a Gypsy with the CCR software program built into it and allows a user to purchase digital content directly from the G.

Can't wait to find out what it is and how it will work.

Best, Mary R.

It appears to be some kind of software and from what I have read so far it looks like it will require a subscription of varying sorts. It makes reference to "the club"...hmmm so that would mean it is something we would have to sign-up for. While there are schematics showing the Gypsy and cutter...I'm getting the impression that it's not a new machine. It may be a whole new CCR type of product as there examples of different types of screens.

Sounds interesting, however what ever it is I will wait and see for some time before I buy into it, if I even do. I will want to see if the bugs get worked out first. Certainly do not want a repeat of the Imagine or the Gypsy issues....so the jury is out until we actually see what "it" is. PC is going to have really work hard at convincing me to buy into their future products. For now I am more than satisfied with what I have.

I got the email last night also. I must admit that although I don't do digital, I am excited about a new machine! I might not be in the market for it, but still excited! It really doesn't take much for me! I am willing to sit tight (don' have a choice) and just pray that Provo Craft will present to us a wonderful machine that many will be excited about and could find endless uses for. I know fellow crafters that we were disappointed with some of the machines and other areas, but on faith let's encourage PC and keep this company lifted. Everyone needs encouragement. Now my biggest problem right now is if this new machine is something I just can't live without, where will I get the money so close to after Christmas time! I have 5 Cricut machines, a Gyspy, jukebox and they were all gifts from my husband! I just can't ask him for something else right now! Maybe my rich uncle...that would work if I had one!

Do you think that patent dated less than a month ago would be it? I don't know anything about patents and the length of time from application to the actual product being on the market or beta tested - but that seems fast.

From the Title - it really seems like it is more about the content (files/designs/cartridges) and how it can be stored and delivered digitally - and not a new machine.. which that picture looks like!

I found an older patent that is described as System and Method for Printing and Cutting - hmmm... !! It was published June 28, 2012 ... Here is a little from that:

Quote:
In step 610, the user may design or select the artwork to be printed then cut. The design may use a personal computer or other processing device to select artwork. The artwork may be single-color or include multiple colors. Moreover, the artwork may be selected from stored cartridge content, such as the cartridges provided with the Cricut® personal electronic cutter.

[0024] In step 620, the user may print the artwork on cutting stock. The printing step may also include printing alignment region 130, or alternatively, alignment region may be pre-printed on the cutting stock. The printing may be accomplished with an inkjet printer, laser printer etc.

[0025] In step 625, the user may configure the paper by removing the tear-away portion 430 (e.g., when using mat-less stock 120). If regular paper stock is used, the configuration step may be skipped. For example, where a sticky-mat-type system is used (e.g., with the Cricut® personal electronic cutter) then a tear-away portion may not be required or desired. The user may then load the craft material 120 into a personal electronic cutter 210.

Read more: http://www.faqs.org/pate...0120160067#ixzz2q0SBxEIU

It really sounds like a machine that will align for print and cut like the Silhouette, but from the Cricut designs.

That's my (un)educated guess!

Love my machines. LOVE my Gypsy. Don't love CCR. But, I am okay with Cloud storage. If it is something portable like a G that runs off the cloud and not my computer, wonderful. BUT, not with a subscription. That would not go over well in my house. Unless it was tiny.

I am excited to see this new creation from PC!

And, I forgot. I will need to be able to link my linked carts.

Hi!
Well, I hope it is something that will take the place of my Gypsy when she passes. I am unable to use CCR with my Expression and Windows 8 (brand new stupid computer), despite valiant attempts from Customer Service to help me.

If this new device will be available for a few years, I can be hopeful that there is a replacement since all my cartridges are linked to my Gypsy and CCR. I would hate to lose the digital stuff I've purchased.

Finances will not allow the purchase of whatever this new machine/device is, this year. DH will be out of work for 6 weeks this summer, so there will be no extras. That doesn't mean I can' learn about the new thing and add it to my wish list.

When will we actually know what it is? Are they going to tell us while CHA is happening??

It's like waiting for Christmas all over again.

Not sure what it will be or how it will work, I will have to see. I have 5 cricut machines right now and a lot of carts. I have been frustrated with Provo Craft with their releases, and all the hype, and then discontinuing products. I don't care for purchasing digital content that does not reside on my computer. If they go out of business, there go all my images that I bought. My husband bought me the cutter that shall not be mentioned on Black Friday. I have to say I love it! It can cut a perfect circle. I don't have a problem purchasing digital content from them because I have their program loaded on my computer, that to me is a BIG difference. I still plan on keeping my cricuts and carts at this point and am interested to see what they come out with. I am just a little Leary from past experiences. I would be very interested if there were a way to send my imagine patterns to my color laser printer tp print. Sarah

Now that you mention it sweettooth, the timing with CHA seems like the time to *introduce* it.

Hoping for a new and improved Gypsy or Gypsy-like device. Something for those of us who can't/won't/don't use CCR.

Here's my partial wish list for such a devise (from another post):

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a new and improved Gypsy -- larger screen, more options, better search feature, an easy way to download the cart PDF right to the Gypsy and see the images perfectly (would settle for easily and clearly), lots more memory (re "download the cart PDF..."), a more global approach to updates (will this addition/modification affect something else in the system in a negative way?), etc.

Sometimes, most of the time, in fact, things go through the patent process and never make it to market. Hoping PC learned its lesson from the Imagine debacle and isn't introducing a print & cut machine that will only work with PC images.
