Hi!
"What could PC add that would make the machine NEW, DIFFERENT, COMPELLING, A MUST HAVE?"

It would fold laundry while I was at work so I would have more time to craft in the evening.

That would be awesome. LOL

Counting down until the 23rd

Have a great day

I checked out their FB page a little while ago and saw the new teaser pic, then I cam here to see if there was any other new info. It's looking more like a new machine to me. Drool

Offer Imagine owners a generous CCR digi-credit and that might help PC mend a lot of fences. Allow users to cut using computer-resident fonts, include wireless capabilities, develop an app for tablets and smart phones......... If all this was included in the new machine out of the box...... then PC might be back in the game again???

BUT there are still no NEW features added here...... What could PC add that would make the machine NEW, DIFFERENT, COMPELLING, A MUST HAVE?

I wasn't really expecting anything new, just new for Cricut, know what I mean?

Reading that most recent patent, it reads like software that will allow the purchasing of single images. In other words, you design a page to cut with 5 different elements and you only own 4 of the images. When you go to cut, it will tell you that it won't cut the image you don't own but give you the option to purchase it immediately, rather than purchase a whole cart. Now that would be slightly new because I don't own any software that allows me to fully design with images I don't already own and then allows me to purchase the single images I want to cut when I am ready to cut it.

When I go to cricut.com the top tab on my iPad says... Personal electronic cutting machine--vinyl cutter

Is that new? Or have I just not noticed it before?

My guess is a cricut that supports blue tooth technology or the same tech that wireless printers use. So that you can cut without a cord. At least...that would be cool. I don't want another Gypsy. Make an app for our Ipads. That would be awesome.

I know that whatever it is, I won't be able to buy it. I bought my imagine and that was not very successful. I told my husband that would be my last machine. It isn't broken but the calibration is way off. It will be fun to see what it is though.

It looks small, but I can't get a good frame of reference. I need to see this powerful software that is discussed before I decide.

The announcement is Tuesday but when will it be for sale? They usually launch on HSN I can't find anything about it on HSN program guide.

Umm... ok.

I don't get why my last post was deleted. It was only information from Cricuts own website. It was vague as are the 4 photos now circling the net.

I love HSN and easypay. It is the reason I can afford to have all the machines and gypsy I have. They do tend to oversale the capabilities of the machines but I can send it back if I want. Melissa

Hmmmm yeah, they deleted my post of the link to the blog that has the pictures. One of the pics showed it with an iPad. It also has a dial for cutting fabric and different weights of card stock. Has a slot to use as a tool caddy. It looks fairly compact. It's white. But the real suspense is what's under the hood. I can't wait to find out what the software/firmware specs are.
I still have the link to those blog pictures but no point in posting it again. It will be deleted. But as somebody else already said the pictures are circulating on the net. So they shouldn't be too hard to find for anyone that is curious enough.

Wonder if I can say this even?

Looks like it may be able to use SVG cuts & also have an app, so you can wirelessly cut stuff!
This was simply found by googling, so not sure why it would be deleted.
And it is all rumor until it is revealed.

After seeing all the leaks..........

My first questions:

List of my Must~Haves:

Will the Explore Print and Cut??

Is there a port for Cricut and/or Imagine carts???

Will it cut chipboard........ heavier than cereal box weight??

Will it cut true scallops and circles?

Intricate cuts in small sizes for cardmakers?

There are several features I really like...... The ability to have two accessories installed, a blade holder and a 2nd tool. I like the sleek design........ tablet use....

I have to see the software......... Any new tool is exciting to me....... I am a gadget geek BigGrin

I'm looking forward to Tuesday to see what this puppy can do!
My biggest questions/concerns that I will be looking for answers to are:
1) Size: I love my Create (that I received as a gift 6 years ago), but I wouldn't mind a machine that cuts up to at least 12x12, like an Expression. I don't absolutely need it, but it would come in handy on occassion!
2) iPad: If it has an app that can be used and cut directly from my iPad, would it be compatible with my original iPad OS? My biggest frustration with some newer iOS apps that I want is that they won't download onto my iPad since it will no longer update to the most current OS available (for newer iPad models). I can't afford a new iPad (every new year/release) so I just choose to be happy with my original. If it's not compatible, then I will just continue to design in CCR through my Photon app (by the way, currently only $4.99 in iTunes), then save and cut when I get to my PC. I've done this for a couple of years now and works just as well for me. I would just prefer to be able to be able to cut without needing wi-fi (like at crops, etc.)
3) Cuts & Carts: I would love it if it print/cut svg or jpeg files (especially since several people have asked me to cut specific things for them with their business logo, etc. but I've been unable to do so since it wouldn't look professional)! But I would love it even more if it cut BOTH digital files AND from the many carts I have invested $$ over the years.
If these features weren't available, I probably wouldn't look twice at it until absolutely needed. My current machine and set up are working good enough. BigGrin

The same picture in different patent years

The patent filed 12-19-2013
http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20130339260
Fig 14A and 14B are the same picture found in the patent filed 8-26-2010
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20100217428.pdf page 35

Also there is another type of hand held device in the 2010 patent.
