I am looking to create a tshirt with vinyl. This is also my first time using vinyl.

I cut out the letter I am looking for and applied to the tshirt. I know it can't be that easy. I used the cricut brand vinyl which does have a little adhesive. I feel like I am missing a step. I bought the transfer paper but I'm really not sure what to do with it. Any help would be great!

Are you using Heat Transfer Vinyl? You don't use regular vinyl, it needs to be the iron on kind.

You cut it out differently also. It comes with its own "transfer sheet" attached to it - it is a very shiny surface. You place that side down on the mat and cut the other side.

You need to mirror image your cut, since you are cutting it out from the back.

You then weed (weed means remove) all the excess vinyl and leave the design on the clear sheet and then iron it on the shirt with either a heat press or an iron set to the correct setting.

Here is a video to make more sense of it:

How to cut Heat Transfer Vinyl

Expressions Vinyl is a great place to order your vinyl from!

Thanks PaperCraft 65 for the information. I have never used the Heat Transfer Vinyl, but will do so soon!
