Whats the difference between the CuttleBug basic, the critter, and the pattern?
Which would be best to get for doing simple projects, like scrap booking.

I'm not sure what the items are you're asking about. The cuttlebug is a manual machine that can use dies to cut images or embossing folders to emboss designs on paper.

The Cricut {is that what you mean by critter?} is an electronic die cutting machine that uses Cricut carts or digital images to cut the designs.

There is a Cricut machine called the Imagine that uses Pattern carts to print the images and then cut them.
