I've been using my Cricut machine for a while now and have had no issues. I just started a project yesterday which includes cutting both light cardstock and patterned paper. I had no trouble cutting the cardstock shapes but the patterned paper is tearing no matter what settings I use...normally I use Blade:4 Pressure:3 Speed:4 and it works fine so I don't now why my paper keeps tearing Crying Can anyone help?! Unsure

if adjusting your settings isn't helping is your mat sticky enough to hold down the paper as the blade is going through it, or try a new blade. normally when my normal settings aren't cutting right its cause i need a new blade. Hope this helps.

I didn't think that could be the case since it cuts the cardstock without issue but maybe you're right...thanks

Have you tried a new blade? When my E does this, it is generally time for a new blade!

I find a need a sharper (newer blade) for thinner papers or vinyl then i need for cardstock due to the different properties of the materials.
