I had never hooked up my Imagine to a computer for fear of causing trouble with a machine that worked great. However, the cutting carriage had started stuttering and jumping around while cutting and I wasn't able to get it fixed. I was afraid my Imagine was failing and wanted to get my carts linked before that happened.

I hooked it up to CCR and linked all my image carts (didn't realized you couldn't link pattern carts but I guess that makes sense), then I tried some print and cuts. It takes a llllooooonnnnnggggg time to "prepare" the image for the Imagine but after that, it works great!

It seems that the cutting carriage is doing much less stuttering when it is being used with CCR than it was doing on its own. I had also gotten used to not putting anything on the bottom quarter of the page because the calibration was never great that low on the page but with CCR that isn't an issue.

A nice pleasant surpriseBigGrin

I have my pattern carts linked. I can't remember how...I think I flood filled an image and when I went to cut...it asked if I wanted to link (well....I'm not 100% sure that's what I did...but I remember it was more involved than linking the other imagine carts).

CCR plays nicely with my imagine too

I couldn't even find the pattern carts on CCR, except those that have a few shapes like Contemporary Nature and Spring Chic.

Pleased to hear you finally took the plunge and have been successful! I started using CCR with my Imagine way back when in 2011 and I love it. It makes using the Imagine a million time easier for me. Knock wood I've never had any problems with it.

I haven't had any issues finding patterns from pattern only carts - they all appear in my pattern gallery drop down list. (Well, I think they do - I checked and Hopscotch, Heirloom, Elise and Ancestry certainly do.) They WON'T appear in the 'images/cartridges' list at the bottom of the screen though. Only in 'Colours and Patterns' in the 'Pattern Gallery' drop down list.

Does it give a link option over there? I haven't worked with a pattern only cart, yet.

Hard to re-test this when I have all my patterned carts linked....but as I mentioned above,

- pick any image you already own (non imagine) and put on your mat,
- go to the left hand side and select colors and patterns
- in the 2nd drop-down box, choose one of your pattern only carts
- fill in the image with one of the patterns
- select go (like you are going to print/cut
- it'll look for your cart...and I believe that is the point when it asks you if you want to link

I can't re-test this, but this is what I did when CCR first started asking to link carts.

Hope it works

I'll give it a try. Although only image carts have been mentioned in the print and cut discussions, I certainly hope we will have the ability to use patterns, too.

Yep just make sure the green bar on the left you've clicked imagine as your machine then click colors and patterns also on the left and the pattern cartridges will appear.

GOOD LUCK!

I sure hope ALL the carts are able to be used - the pattern only carts are the ones I like the best!

The competition allows the use of fill patterns in their software........ no reason it can't be done! This might mend some fences with the 1000s of Imagine owners who have a lot of cartridges!
