Okay I am confused on "mat the inside". I was thinking of putting blank paper inside just a bit smaller and on the top inside with the rest of my saying. The song I used many of you will not have heard. Some of us "young older" ladies will know it as their mothers probably sang it and we sang it to ours. Don't know why it popped into my head as I haven't heard this in years. Even had to go online and hear Doris Day sing it. lol Hugs Patti

Hi Barbara,
Thank you for simplifying the swap. Makes it a lot easier. I have my cards made and would like to swap for September, October and November. Sending cards out tomorrow, 8/28/14. I also switched my user name from juliehawkinson to Cardmakerjulie.

Oh boy my Christmas list will grow, those would be great pencils for me then Barb. Maybe I can get in Oct. My glasses and lens will be expensive and that's the priority now and of course something else I want.... Kids could go together for Christmas but won't - they will compete. Off to find any replies to a question last night. Can't remember which posts I put it on. Hugs Patti

Evelyn - glad you had a good vacation, way to muggy to craft outside. I would love to.

Ugh, was going to send my cards on Monday and didn't because I decided I wanted to do one more thing. Then I was supposed to mail them yesterday, but was completely not in the mood.... so then today the van breaks down and is now in the shop (the other car is already in the shop). Which means, I shall try again tomorrow! Refuse to mail late, even if I have to walk to post office (please no!).

KM !! So nice to hear from you again... looking forward to seeing what you made for us Woot

HodMOm - Your cards arrived today !! THey are simply awesome !!

Golfingrams- The mat can be blank...it can be punched with a border...it can be inked... whatever you want to do. I prefer to put a plain mat in mine, and then also provide a stamped or printed sentiment so that the receipient can decide what she would like to put inside there.... Hope that helps ! DOris Day is just great in my book ! (but then again, I am old too !)Wink

CardmakerJulie- Gotcha !! ThumpUp Wink Thanks for hangin in there with us !!

MrsHinton- No worries... As long as you mail by Saturday you are in the clear !! Wub

I just all you card-making ladies !! You ROCK !! Woot

I am still working on mine...will post pix when I get time this weekend...BigGrin

Okay I'm having a brain f here, what do you mean mat, like just a regular what we call mat for a card front. Or a full sheet of paper like when your buying a card. Sorry I'm not getting this.

I tried a zyron but kind of defeats the purpose of having a cricut cut your pieces then have to cut a again.

Love In this case, a "mat" refers to a small piece of cardstock/paper....for a 6x6 card I would make it a 5x5 piece, and usually ink the edges, or sometimes I even double layer-them , or punch the edges...then I glue it down to the inside of the card. This is the area where you usually stamp a sentiment. You should be able to see some of them in recent photos of cards on this thread....and I do believe that you usually put mats in your cards...so is there another name for them ? Unsure
Here is the inside of a card I made with a "double mat" and then provided a white piece for a stamped sentiment...and Mrs,Hintons card showing her lovely "mat" for this month's cards.

Hope that helps !!

Barb.... I'm going to pass on September. I think I'm still within time limits to sign up / cancel for September. I'm in so many other fall swaps and with the first few weeks of school being a mess I'm thinking I need to skip it. Can't wait to see pictures for them. Description sounds fun!!!!

Yes and it's fun, you and Kiethann are also. I love to be funny and cheerful. I do not like crabby and grumpy - I live with one, lol. You should hear my son, he is a born comedian and can put you in stitches. When he and his brother - sisters get together it's like your at a laugh fest. Hugs Patti

I am sure my mailbox will be full Tuesday and Wednesday !Looking forward to seeing all the pretty cards BigGrin

Please get them mailed by Saturday ladies !! If you are on the East Coast, there is not too much to worry about, but those who are out West of the Mississippi - it takes a week or more sometimes for the mail to get to Florida from there... Silly - but true ! Even Priority Mail takes a week which is ridiculous. I sent letters to a friend in London England and my nephew who is in Israel and they usually have them in a week.
So I do not understand what happens to mail from California to FLorida, except for they must be using Pony Express to get over the Continental Divide!LOL

Barb,
I want in for September. I'm asking my brother to bring my Cricut to the nursing home because I've run out of things to do and I tend to get in trouble when I'm bored. Besides I still owe Patti part of another swap.

I've also noticed that some of the signs posted around the building could do with a little work, and I've agreed to help the crafts group make cards. This should keep me busy for awhile.
