I got some new embellishments to try, saw them on Amazon and thought they were so pretty. Some are acetate, have never used acetate embellies before SO how do you attach on your card stock of card face?? Want to use them on some beautiful cardstock mats I got also. Thanks bunches. Hugs Patti

HI Everyone -- so good to be here. Just wanted to check in.

Patti -- I just got some new embellishments too! Can't wait to finish my cards with them.
Nancy -- hope you get some card making done this weekend.
Barb -- you're always so busy. Hope you get your cards finished. Hugs.
Catita -- sounds like your cards are well on their way to completion. Hope you're having a great weekend.
Lori -- hope your vacation was fun!
Judy -- just want you to know you're in my thoughts.

We are going to have a rainy weekend here in NC so I am going to try to do a lot of crafting with niece. She arrived Wed and we are having so much fun together. She is a very sweet girl and loves to craft.

Take care everyone and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Patti - I have used my Scotch ATG tape on acetate sheets before...it is pretty clear. On small pieces I would suggest a few drops of Glossy Accents, as it stays clear. I have not used it a lot, so maybe others have better ideas on using it. I usually have acetate in a "window" so the adhesive doesn't show on the outside anyway.

They make a tape runner specifically for vellum. I have never tried it on acetate but it might work.

Hi Evelyn, hope you get to craft with your niece. I just gave my dgd my mini, she is 9. I forgot to give her mats so will have to get them to her. Daughter is back in NC after 7 weeks of traveling. Think they are in SC right now visiting her in-laws before the move to Germany.

Thanks ladies on acetate, I just got some of that tape. I did try some Tombo last night and it's clear. I do have glossy accents also.
Will have to look at Michael's this week for vellum tape as some cuts are vellum also. Good assortment with acetate - vellum and cardstock.

Hugs Patti

About to sit down and glue a ton of my pieces for my cards. Might even post a sneak peek. I'm so in love with my test card that I decided to make enough cuts for 20 of these cards!!!! 6 for the swap and 14 (or less, depending on mistakes and damages) to send to friends/coworkers.

Barb, can I still join the August Fall theme, mailing by August 30th? I was just pulling out my Fall/Halloween stamps and discovered a lovely Fall stamp set I bought last year but then never ended up using it at the time. So I'd love the chance to use it in this swap, if not too late to join in for the August group.

Thanks!

Good Morning everyone !

Just a quick note before going to work... I received some lovely cards from Jean P. (I went ahead and took a pic even tho she has posted one because I had the camera out...) and also from Cardmaker Julie...really cute stamped card with very pretty coloring

A reminder ladies, this is essentially a NEW SWAP - it is not the old A2 card swap. We will be doing more variety from now on. THat is why there are details on Post #2 for each month with requirements for the cards. Please be sure to read Posts #1 & #2 and send me a PM if you have any questions. THank you !! Love

We have another new member ...ScrappinGwen !! Delighted to have her with our group ThumpUp Woot

I am looking forward to all this great cardmaking for August... everyone sounds like they are being really creative ! Wub

Answer : YEAH !!! I just LOVE It when you start handling materials !! LOL LOL

Super nice to hear from you after a long hiatus !! Love

I got some really awesome cards yesterday from our NEW MEMBER, LifeWeaver .... Very pretty Fall colors card with a nice mat inside so you can stamp it with your own sentiment - I especially like the use of a MESH type of ribbon she used on the front which has a little bit of metallic sparkle to it...would like to get some of that ! Thank you Lifeweaver !!

I tried to take the picture so you could see it on the inside and outside too...

There is nothing wrong with fun cutesy theme! Heck, if we all did the exactly the same, what fun would it be to get a variety of cards that all seem to trend the same way....

Fun and cutesy is good! I am sure they are wonderful. Mine is a fall theme but I am using non traditional colors and is has a modern, CAS look. Variety is good!

So good to be back. I was on vacation at a little resort outside of Chicago and the internet access was sketchy at best! What did we do before internet and cellphones! My family thought I was crazy but I took my scrappy stuff and enjoyed some scrapbooking on our down days! Now that I am home, its time to start on my cards! Loving the pictures that Im seeing so far!

LOVELY CARD GWEN !! Thanks for posting for me. .....Love
Can't wait to get some more in my hands from the rest of you ladies !

I am knee deep in cardstock and cuttings and embellies this evening already ! ! Trying to keep up with a heavy crafting schedule now... 6 to finish before October 1st. Doenst sound like much, but when you work and you are OLD OhMyGod like me it takes a long time to do stuff !! Sad Plus I cannot work on it much during the week...my weekends are real bogged down in paper !!

This Saturday I am supposed to be going to VIrginia to see my In-laws.(they are in their 80's) and we will be gone until Tuesday. I will try to keep up with the postings but probably will not be on here from Friday night through Tuesday afternoon....so dont think I am MIA !!

BigGrin I knew you wouldnt pass up the SWAP-A-TUNITY to make Halloween cards !! Laugh Love

Ten days to go before mailing deadline ladies ! Remember, if your cards are not received by September 8th, they will not be sent back out for the exchange on Sept. 10th. Even Priority Mail can be unreliable as a 2-3 day post...so if you mail on Aug.30th (even with Labor Day holiday)I should have them no later than Monday 9/8.

Thanks !

WOW !! Kali - these cards are SUPER GORGEOUS !! LOVE LOVE LOVE THE EMBOSSING ON THE PUMPKINS ! Pretty embellishments too !!

You have to SHRINK your pictures. The file is too large. Pull up your picture in your Documents picture file and right click on it...you get a drop down menu...click on "EDIT" and then it will take you to the program to edit your photos. THen click on "RESIZE" and you select "PIXELS" . I chrink mine down to 800 x 600 usually . Once you shrink it, "save" it and then you are ready to click on the Cricut page where you download pictures. It will load in about 5 sedoncds and be immediately visible.
Hope that helps. I am not a good teacher on computer stuff. No one ever taught me how to work a computer. I had to figure it all out the hard way ! LOL So while I can do some things, it is hard for me to tell someone else how to do it unless I can SHOW them what I am doing . Blink BigGrin

GWEN - I got your cards in the mail today !! Just lovely. Pictures do not tell the story !! Love
