Hello:

I was so excited to receive my Explore. Upon opening the box, I discovered the mat was bent. I placed books on top of the mat in hopes of straightening it out.

I then tried to cut letters with my first cut. It did not work. The letters were torn. Other items I cut, like a rectangle and star, were fine. I know I used the correct settings and paper....I'm a long time mini user.

I understand from reading this forum that others cut letter just fine. Could I have a defective machine? Or, is it simply due to the bent mat?

Thank you for any help or advice in advance.

Shelly

Hi this is Cricut JoAnn,

We'd recommend checking the blade and possibly trying a different mat. Is it tearing the letters or are they just not a straight cut?

I just got a new Explore, and my mat is also bent. I struggle to load it, but it cuts fine.
