I am thinking about getting Design Studio, but am wondering if there is a way to crop an image so that only part of it is cut. I have looked through the old message board, and looked online for video tutorials, but have not found a clear answer to my question. I woudl appreciate any help :)

I don't think there is, unfortunately. Honestly, I used DS for a long time and just broke down and got a Gypsy a month ago....addicted!! You CAN hide parts of images on the G...it's awesome.

kind of sort of ....... Design studio has a "hide selected contour" option which allows you to hide lines in a cut but if the cut is one continuous cut if you hide contour it will hide the entire shape.

To hide contour click the line you don't want to cut then right click and select "hide selected contour"

You can hide part of an image in Design Studio - this function was only recently added to the Gypsy. I do have a video showing one way that this is helpful - I also have lots of tutorials and examples on my blog. Here is a LINK to the post with the video.

The lines that can be hidden are the same on the Gypsy or Design Studio. There are a few glitches with the Design Studio version (they fixed these in the Gypsy but haven't updated Design Studio yet... I have figured out workarounds for most of them and if you check the labels for posts about hide selected contour you can read about these (or just send me a message with your specific questions and I will try to help).
