I am overjoyed with the completion of this project!! It needed a lot of planning and even involved my Cricut's first time away from home! I made this for my incredible friends who are expecting their first baby!

Catridges Used:
Serenade: tree
Happily Ever After: Birds and Heart
Gypsy Wanderings: Leaves

Thanks so much for looking - I hope this enourages you to think BIG with your next project!!

***UPDATE! This project was in the Cricut Chirp this week! BigGrin http://www.cricut.com/ne...tters/volume.aspx?ID=293 ***

**Another UPDATE! The baby is here!!! My BFF gave birth on December 15 to a beautiful baby boy! I just can't wait to spoil him! Ecstatic to be an "auntie!"

Did you have to seam the vinyl together? If so, how did you do that? This is gorgeous! I love it!

Thanks everyone! I used 11 mats (12"x24") - it used about 9 yards of brown vinyl.
I was worried about how the seams would go together but after burnishing onto the wall and overlapping the cuts a bit, I was very pleased with how it turned out - looks nearly seamless!

I mapped out my cuts by sketching out which sections I could cut in 12"x24" pieces.
Here's an image of my map that I created - I colour coded the maps and matched the colours in design studio to keep my pieces organized. I adjusted the size of the tree to 72" x 54" and moved it around until the area matched up with the mat in my map. I tested my cut with paper first, to give me the chance to adjust any pieces before I cut it in vinyl. Attached is also an image of my test cut.

Hope that makes sense!

Oh one more thing to note! The couple wanted the tree to extend over the crib so one of the branches was cut twice, in order to add one to the right side of the tree. The paper trial version doesn't match the finished vinyl version exactly because we adjusted our placement of the extra branch on site, based on the position of the crib BigGrin

That is absolutely amazing. You are so very smart...even with your maps I don't think I would be able to figure out how to do that.

Thanks for sharing it with us all!!!
