Hello,

I am new to the Cricut world...my husband bought me one for Christmas. YEA! I just ordered the Car Decal Cartridge and was wondering what type of decal paper do I need, and where can I find it? Thanks and I am so excited to get crafting! Thanks!

Congrats and welcome!! If you are wanting to make decals for your car, you need to purchase vinyl. You can use the Cricut vinyl (sold in craft stores, online, and at cricut.com) but it would be best to use an outdoor vinyl. If you are not wanting large quantities, go to a local sign shop and ask them if you can buy their scraps. Some shops will just give it to you! Otherwise, keep checking back here and I'm sure someone will tell you exactly where to purchase some. I haven't ordered any online (I usually get mine from the local sign shop scraps!)

I got shiny white vinyl from Amazon.com for like $8 for a huge roll. It worked great for my car and I used it on ornaments this year as well as chargers. A lot fun cutting vinyl :)

This is not exactly on the same topic..... BUT....

I recently purchased the Car Decals cartridge and vinyl. I plan to try cutting some decals for my hubby's car.

1. What size do the decals usually get cut?
2. Any tips for using the vinyl? (This will be my first experience with it.)

I bought my vinyl on Ebay as well as the transfer paper.....but I am having trouble getting the vinyl to stick to the window Confused eespecially the little eyes.

ETA: The vinyl I bought is Oracal 651 from what I read on here 651 is for outdoor.

I cut my little people as follows: mom/dad 4" kids 3" pets 2"

The oracal vinyl should work fine. Most of the time the transfer problem comes from transfer paper not the vinyl.
